Pictet

Pictet Asset Management has appointed Andy Wong as a Hong Kong-based senior investment manager within the multi-asset team. He will co-manage the Pictet Strategic Income fund, the firm’s Hong Kong-domiciled Asian multi-asset fund.

He joined the firm from Invesco Hong Kong, where he was a senior fund manager overseeing multi-asset income mandates for Asian investors.

The asset manager has also hired Wendy Appleton as head of UK intermediaries, based in London.

Appleton will be responsible for developing the distribution business in the UK market and Ireland, focusing on identifying opportunities with wealth managers, asset managers and intermediaries.

Appleton joined Pictet Asset Management in 2008 as head of strategic partnership responsible for UK platforms.

Intertrust Jersey

Trust and corporate services firm Intertrust has promoted three staff in its Jersey unit as it creates a new executive committee.

Adrian Franklin, Lisa Bragg and Nicola Giraud have all been promoted and will form part of the Intertrust Jersey executive committee, led by managing director Simon Mackenzie, said the firm.

Franklin, who was previously director of IT & Change, has been promoted to operations director for Jersey and will be responsible for day-to-day operations and the execution of Intertrust’s strategy.

Bragg has been promoted to HR director for the Jersey office and will be in charge of leading, directing and implementing the HR strategies, focusing on talent management, reward, training and development.

Chartered accountant Giraud, previously group financial controller, has been promoted to finance director for Jersey and will be responsible for the finance operations of the Jersey business, as well as supporting the executive team in the delivery of Intertrust’s strategy.

Nucleus

Nucleus has hired John Levin to its board of directors.

Levin is the co-founder of Certua, a technology platform that uses client financial data to automate and personalise insurance.

His appointment is as one of three adviser appointed representatives to the Nucleus board, said the firm.

Levin holds a number of directorships within the sector and sits on the board of Integrated Protection Solutions, a joint venture he co-founded with Swiss Re that integrates wealth management and life insurance.

Levin also co-founded Quanis Group, which provides business technology solutions for the insurance industry in the UK and US, as well as Telecom Plus, a FTSE 250 multi-utility services company where he was a non-executive director from 1997 to 2006.

He has also been a significant shareholder and held senior positions in several companies including chairman of Amtrust Europe, chief and non executive director of IGI Group Limited, chairman of Rocketer, chairman of Surely Group and non-executive director of Money Dashboard.

Sandaire

Family office and wealth manager Sandaire has hired former Tilney man Andrew Waldren as its new chief operating officer to oversee its technological integration.

Before joining Tilney, he was the chief operating officer of Ingenious Asset Management.

After Tilney purchased Ingenious, Walden oversaw the fusion of the two groups’ clients, teams, operations and business systems.

At Sandaire, he will similarly be responsible for “advancing and enhancing” the group’s operating model, including leading the charge on the integration of new technology to tap into future clients’ needs and emerging client segments.

He will also serve as an executive director on the Sandaire board.
