PEOPLE MOVES: PFS, FWD, Evelyn Partners

Trade body to recruit interim CEO, while Asian life insurance giant names chairman

|

PFS

The Personal Finance Society is looking to hire an interim chief executive imminently to support “members’ interests during the remainder of 2022”.

A full-time chief executive will be named in 2023, it added.

The announcement comes a year after the Chartered Insurance Institute dissolved the role for the PFS. The interim position will be filled by the end of summer 2022.

FWD

Hong Kong-headquartered FWD Group has promoted Frederick Ma to chairman, effective immediately.

Up until now, he served as deputy chairman and non-executive director.

Ma will succeed Ronald Arculli who is retiring. Arculli, however, will remain as a non-executive director at the business either until the firm completes its planned IPO or 30 December 2022, whichever comes soonest.

Ma and Arculli both joined FWD’s board in 2013, when the firm was founded.

Evelyn Partners

The wealth group – formerly known as Tilney Smith & Williamson – has made two hires.

Oliver Robson has taken on the role of investment director in London. He joins from Quartet Investment Managers where he spent five years in a similar role.

Matt Dickinson has become an investment manager in Cornwall, a first for the company, in a bid to expand the southwest presence and offering. For the last seven years he was at Walker Crips in a similar position.

AJ Bell

Alena Kosava has joined AJ Bell as head of research.

She takes over from Ryan Hughes who has been in the role since 2016 and has been promoted to head of investment partnerships.

Kosava was most recently at Avellemy Investment Management where she worked as head of collectives.

Gam

The investment firm has named Magnus Jahnke as head of distribution for the Nordics, effective from 1 September 2022.

He will be based in Stockholm.

Jahnke was previously at Jupiter Asset Management where he spent the last six years as managing director and head of Nordics.

Canada Life

Katy Johnston has taken on the role of head of digital transformation at the life insurer in the UK.

She joins from Aviva where she held a series of senior transformation roles across savings and retirement and general insurance.

Impax

The specialist asset manager hired Nana Li as head of sustainability and ESG for Asia Pacific, a newly created role.

She was most recently at the Asian Corporate Governance Association where she was research and project director for China.

Redington

Investment consultancy Redington has made a series of senior promotions.

Mohamed Fazal, Nick Lewis and Alexander White have all become managing directors, while Maria Kendall, Christoforos Bikos and Oliver Wayne have taken on the roles of directors within the firm’s investment consulting and manager research teams, respectively.

They are part of 23 promotions across several divisions.

Axa IM

The investment management arm of Axa has expanded its responsible investment team with two hires.

Mariana Villanueva and Matthieu Firmian have both been named ESG analysts.

Villanueva was already at the Axa Group where she worked as a credit analyst, while Firmian joins from Aviva Investors where he worked as a product manager.

They will both be based in Paris.
