UK advice network makes c-suite changes, while investment firm hires CEO for Czech Republic

The UK financial advice network has a couple of c-suite changes.

Grant Hotson will become group chief financial officer in 2023, replacing Richard Houghton, who will take on the role of chief executive in January 2023.

Hotson joins from Abrdn, where he served as commercial finance director.

Additionally, Dominic Sheridan, chief executive of Openwork’s investment management arm Omnis Investments, is leaving the business to pursue an external opportunity.

Rob Thorpe will succeed him after leading BMO Asset Management’s intermediary business in Emea as managing director.

Amundi

The France-headquartered asset manager has promoted Alain Berry to chief executive of Amundi Asset Management in the Czech Republic.

He has been head of communications at Credit Agricole AM since 2008, which became Amundi in 2010 following the merger with SocGen Asset Management.

IQ-EQ

Samuel Kuborn has taken on the role of regional chief operating officer for continental Europe at the private client firm, a newly created role.

He will be based in Luxembourg and join from RBC Investor & Treasury Services, where he was managing director of the product and profitability of the trustee, depositary and fund corporate services division.

Kuborn will be responsible for day-to-day operations across Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Cyprus.

Vistra

Alan Brown has stepped down as group chief executive of the Hong Kong-based fund and corporate services provider.

Simon Webster will take over, effective from 7 November 2022. He was most recently group chief executive of data provider CPA Global.

Van Lanschot Kempen

The Dutch private bank has promoted Susan Leerkes to chief executive of its Swiss subsidiary, effective from 1 January 2023.

She is currently managing director of the bank’s Amsterdam, Hilversum and Laren offices.

Aviva Investors

Richard Surrency has become head of Asia Pacific at Aviva Investors, based in Singapore.

He joins from Franklin Templeton, where he was head of private markets and alternative business in Asia.

Aditum Investment Management

The Dubai-based investment management business has recruited James Clark as head of investment funds and research.

He joins from Hawksmoor Investment Management in the UK, where he spent more than seven years as a senior fund analyst.

Quilter Cheviot

The discretionary investment arm of Quilter has hired three investment managers across the UK.

Andrew Hannay has joined the Edinburgh office from Cornelian Asset Managers (now part of Brooks Macdonald), where he held senior investment roles.

The Jersey office has recruited Thea Wright from JTC Employer Solutions, where she was for just over a year.

Last, James Rennie has re-joined the business in the Birmingham office from Rathbones Greenbank. He originally started working at the firm in 2016 as a trainee investment manager.

Tabula Investment Management

The European asset manager and ETF provider has hired named Marks Lander within its client coverage team to enhance its business development in Germany and Austria.

He was previously at Danske Bank in London, where he worked as a senior banker and was responsible for client relationships in the two European countries.
