Momentum Pensions
Valerie Calleja has been promoted to director of Momentum Pensions in Malta.
Calleja is the group head of compliance at the UK-headquartered firm and joined the pensions consultancy company in 2015 from KPMG Malta, where she was associate director.
Before that, she was head of financial crime compliance at HSBC Bank Malta.
Aberdeen Standard Investments
The asset manager has named Aileen Mathieson as global head of strategic platform investment solutions.
Mathieson will be responsible for getting more clients on platform and will report to Campbell Fleming, global head of distribution.
She joins ASI from Zurich Insurance, where she was chief investment officer and UK head of wealth management at Zurich UK.
Generali
Steven Zuanella has been named as group chief digital officer at the Italian insurance firm.
He is responsible for controlling and supporting the group’s digital and data analytics initiatives, as well as for innovation.
Zuanella joins the firm with experience at global companies within the insurance industry.
IOOF Holdings
Managing director Christopher Kelaher will leave the company “by mutual agreement” on 2 July 2019 and has resigned from the board, effective immediately.
Kelaher will receive payment of around A$1.27m (£6920,000, $904,000, €805,000) in lieu of his contractual notice period, along with accrued leave entitlements.
Elsewhere, Allan Griffiths has been appointed non-executive chairman of the firm.
He has been acting chairman since early December last year, when George Venardos stepped aside as chairman.
Venardos remains on leave from the board.
Griffiths has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry and was previously chief executive at Aviva Australia.
Paicolex Trust Group
The Swiss wealth advisory firm has appointed David McLellan as group chief executive.
McLellan has 25 years’ experience in the sector and was previously managing partner of law firm Withers’ Zurich office and the former global chief executive of the Rothschild Trust Group.
Fidelity International
The firm has hired Andrew McCaffery as global chief investment officer of alternatives and solutions, effective July 2019.
In the newly-created role, McCaffery will head up the development of Fidelity International’s alternatives and solutions operations, incorporating the existing multi-asset, investment solutions design and real estate teams.
He has over 30 years’ industry experience and joins Fidelity International after eight years at Aberdeen Standard Investments, where he held the role of global head of strategic client investments.
McCaffery will report to Bart Grenier, global head of asset management.
Charles Stanley
The wealth manager has appointed Stewart Littlejohn as intermediary sales manager covering Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Littlejohn previously spent 22 years at Aviva, where he was business development manager working exclusively in intermediary sales covering the east coast of Scotland.
He reports to Steve Hill, head of intermediary sales, and will be responsible for sourcing discretionary portfolios for Charles Stanley.
