Wealth manager names CEO of Middle East, as investment firm hires chief executive

Mirabaud Group

The wealth management division of the group has hired Samir Atitallah as chief executive for Mirabaud Middle East.

He will be based in Dubai.

Atitallah joined the Mirabaud Group in February 2022 and will be moving to Dubai as of April.

Redington

The independent investment consultant and technology specialist has announced the appointment of Sylvia Pozezanac as chief executive.

Sylvia joins Redington on 4 April 2022 from Mercer UK, where she was president and chief executive.

She succeeds Mitesh Sheth, who left Redington in December 2021.

Quilter Cheviot

David Denton has joined the investment firm as technical sales consultant, according to his Linkedin profile.

He was head of technical sales and head of sales Europe at Quilter International until the business was sold to Utmost.

Nikko Asset Management

Rob Bluzmanis has been named as regional head of Emea and chief executive of Nikko AM Europe.

Bluzmanis previously held senior management roles at Nikko AM Australia, Blackrock and Colonial First State.

John Howland-Jackson continues as chairman of Nikko AM Europe in a non-executive capacity, whilst also stepping into a new global strategy role as senior advisor international.

Robeco

The asset manager has named Marcel Prins as chief operating officer, effective as of 1 June.

Prins succeeds Karin van Baardwijk, who was Robeco’s chief operating officer until she was appointed chief executive on 1 January 2022 and held on to the responsibilities on an interim basis after that.

Joining Robeco from APG Asset Management, Prins brings more than 25 years of experience in operations and technology in the financial services sector.

Nucleus

The adviser platform group has hired Chris Williams as propositions director.

He joins from HSBC, where he was head of UK wealth propositions.

Tenet Group

The financial adviser support network has appointed Anthony Sheard as head of learning and development.

He joins from HSBC, where he worked as global coaching and development manager since 2017.

Vanguard

The US giant has appointed a new boss for its investment strategy group in Europe as Peter Westaway announces his retirement.

Westaway, who also served as chief economist for Europe, exits at the end of this month after over a decade at the firm.

His career spans senior economic and research roles at HM Treasury as well as the Bank of England, where he spent five years as the head of its monetary instruments and markets division.

Prior to joining Vanguard, he was Nomura’s chief economist for Europe.

Westaway will be replaced by Jumana Saleheen, another Bank of England alumnus, at the start of April.

She will be based in London.

Isio

The pensions, investment and financial wellbeing advisory firm has appointed Vito Faircloth as its first chief digital officer.

Fairclough joined the organisation in March 2020 as head of digital solutions.

Santander Wealth Management & Insurance (WM&I)

The firm has hired Laura Blanco to lead its ESG unit.

Blanco, who has over 20 years of professional experience, began her career as an equities analyst at UBS before moving to Credit Suisse in 2003. She also worked at Lusight Research, Haitong Securities, Baring Asset Management and Nakatomi Capital.

Guinness Global Investors

Patrick Healey has been named as head of operations and Harry Fife as sales
manager with responsibility for clients in the north of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Isle of Man.

Healey joins Guinness from Kepler Partners LLP, where he worked as operations manager since 2017.

Fife was previously a client services executive at Polar Capital Partners, where he supported the regional sales director as well as undertaking client service responsibilities.
