PEOPLE MOVES: Lombard Odier, Jersey Finance, CISI

Managing partner named by Lombard, with Jersey Finance making changes at the top

Lombard Odier

Alexandre Zeller is set to join the Lombard Odier Partnership at the beginning of March 2019 as managing partner.

Zeller will be responsible for the technology and operations unit for the whole group. The role will be based in Geneva.

Since 2016, he has been a member of the board for the South African business of Credit Suisse, as well as chairmen of the board of director for the Swiss group.

Jersey Finance

Changes at the top for Jersey Finance. Joe Moynihan, the former chief executive of AIB’s Jersey and Isle of Man business, has been given the top job.

Succeeding Geoff Cook, who is leaving after 12 years as chief executive, Moynihan will start at Jersey Finance on 18 February 2019.

He was previously chief executive of RAK International Corporate Centre in the UAE, as well as chair of the Jersey Bankers Association and director of financial services for the Jersey government.

CISI

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) has appointed Mark Hinds as president.

Hinds is an investment and branch manager for Charles Stanley’s Norwich business, and will lead CISI’s East Anglia committee.

He joined CISI in 1998 and has been with Charles Stanley since 2013.

Life Insurance Association of Malaysia

A chief executive has been named for the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM).

Mark O’Dell took on the role in January 2019 after retiring from the top job at Manulife Insurance at the end of October last year; a role he held since 2013.

He has been in the life insurance business for nearly 40 years, 24 of which he spent around Asia.

Brooks Macdonald

The investment manager group has hired Alan Carruthers as its chairman, effective from 14 March 2019.

He will succeed Christopher Knight who is set to retire on the same date. Carruthers has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has experience in both executive and non-executive roles.

AMP Life

Megan Beer has been appointed chief executive of AMP Life, the soon-to-be Resolution Life, and head of Resolution Life Australasia region.

The move to Resolution will be finalised in the second half of 2019, with Beer leading the transition.

She joined AMP from National Australia Bank (NAB) in 2014, where she was responsible for the business’ strategy team.

Schroders

The global investment manager has named Masaki Taketsume as manager for its Tokyo fund and Japanese investment fund.

Taketsume has been with the company for over 10 years, and will take over from Andrew Rose who will be retiring at the end of June 2019.
