Kleinwort Hambros
The private banking arm of Societe Generale has promoted Mouhammed Choukeir to chief executive, subject to regulatory approval.
He joined Kleinwort Hambros in 2011 and is currently deputy chief executive and chief investment officer.
Choukeir will succeed John Maitland, who took on the role in 2018, as he pursues other opportunities outside the private bank.
Carmignac
Gautier Ripert has become Carmignac’s chief operating officer.
He will be responsible for the company’s operating model, data and IT solutions as well as the middle-office and technology divisions.
Ripert joins from Axa investment Managers where he served as global head of operations.
HSBC Private Banking
The private banking arm of HSBC has hired Caroline Kitdis as its head for ultra-high net worth for Emea and US, effective from 14 April 2020.
In the newly created role, she will be based in London and expand the current proposition and client experience offered to the bank’s clients.
Kitdis was previously at Deutsche Bank where she led the European Institutional Wealth Partner Goup.
Nedbank Private Wealth
Nedbank has made two promotions within its senior management team.
David McFadzean will take on the role of head of wealth management, while Andrew Halsall will become head of private banking in the Isle of Man.
McFadzean joined the bank just over a year ago to lead its investment specialist function and chair the investment committee.
Halsall has been with the firm for 15 years, focusing on high net worth individuals and families.
Tatton
The investment management business has recruited Astrid Schilo for the newly created position of chief investment strategist.
The hire follows equity analyst Mark Murray’s departure to join Morningstar.
Schilo joins from Mediolanum Asset Management where she worked as a senior macro strategist.
Collas Crill
Offshore law firm Collas Crill has named David Gooney as a partner in its Guernsey international private client and trusts team.
He had a similar role at Charles Russell Speechlys in Zurich and, before that, he headed Ogier’s private wealth team in the Cayman Islands.
Boodle Hatfield
The private wealth law firm has promoted five senior associates to partner, effective from 1 May 2020.
Eleanor Sepanski and Lauren Morgan will work within the private client and tax division, with Harriet Errington and Katie O’Callaghan in the family team, and Kellie Jones in litigation.
The latter three trained at the firm, while Sepanski and Morgan joined the firm in 2004 and 2019, respectively.
