PEOPLE MOVES: Kleinwort Hambros, ANZ, QB Partners

Wealth manager makes six hires, while Australian firm names Hong Kong CEO

Kleinwort Hambros

The private bank and wealth management arm of Societe Generale has made one promotion and five hires.

Andrew Dixon has been promoted to head of UK and international wealth planning. He has been at the firm since 2013 when he started as a wealth planner.

Sandra Kaspar has been named international financial planner as she joins from a Switzerland-based family office.

Mehareen Ali is a chartered financial planner and was previously at Sanlam.

Thomas Crowther has been named as senior paraplanner from Close Brothers Asset Management.

Luisa Rua-Estrada has been recruited as a senior administrator from London & Capital.

Lastly, Jane Stedman will join the firm as a wealth planner in January 2020 from Brooks Macdonald.

ANZ

Australian financial services provider ANZ has appointed Peter Chan as chief executive for its Hong Kong business.

He currently runs ANZ Taiwan, having held several senior positions, including chief executive for the Philippines, since joining the firm in 2008.

QB Partners

The independent cross-border technical specialist business has made two senior hires.

Scott Hood has joined QB Partners trust and estate planning service as a consultant from Friends Provident International in the UAE.

Mike Foxall has been named head of the newly-introduced wealth insurance service, which will assist advisers in making insurance bond recommendations to clients.

He previously worked at Axa Wealth International for 10 years, leaving in 2014 to join Dominion Fiduciary Services before becoming a marketing consultant with IWI (International Wealth Insurer) in 2015.

Chief executive Richard Rowney is going to step down from the top job and as a member of the board at the end of 2019.

Alan Cook has been named executive chair of the mutual insurer, subject to regulatory approval, while Rowney’s successor is found.

Prudential

Jeremy Anderson has been hired as a non-executive director and will become a member of the life insurer’s risk and audit committees.

He will join the firm on 1 January 2020.

He currently holds a similar position at UBS Group and is chairman of its audit committee as well.

Guernsey Finance

Dominic Wheatley is set to leave his role as chief executive of the promotional body for the financial services industry in the Channel Island in June 2020.

He has been at Guernsey Finance for over five years.

The process of recruiting his successor will begin in January 2020.

Parmenion

Parmenion’s chief investment strategist is going to retire in September 2020.

Simon Brett has worked at the Aberdeen Asset Management subsidiary for 12 years.

During the next nine months, he will be working alonside current head of investment solutions Tom Sayers who is set to take on the c-suite position once Brett retires.

Key Group

The financial solutions provider for over-55s has promoted Russell Warwick to group B2B distribution director.

He joined the firm in February 2019 as a group distribution strategy director after spending 25 years at Prudential.

Fundrock

Simon Gunson has been appointed as managing director for Fundrock’s UK business.

Before joining the independent third-party Ucits management firm he spent three years at Citi as a director of investment services.
