Just Group
Chief executive Rodney Cook has decided to step down after nine years in the top job.
Cook will stay at Just Group until 30 June 2019 through the transition period, but leaves the company’s board with immediate effect.
The group is now recruiting for a successor, both internally and externally.
In the meantime, David Richardson, currently group deputy chief executive and interim chief financial officer, will take on the role of interim chief executive, subject to regulatory approval.
UBS
Similarly, UBS’ head of UK domestic business, Nick Tucker, is leaving the Swiss firm after nine years in the job.
His role has now been split in three, all sitting on the wealth management UK management committee.
The UK regions will continue to be led by Jonathan Brown, Mark Goddard will be responsible for the high net worth London desk, while Shona Baijal takes on the lead of the newly-created growth and efficiency segment.
Hargreaves Lansdown
Double hire for the UK-based investment management firm. Emma Wall and Paul Black have been named head of investment analysis and DC investment manager respectively.
Wall joins from Morningstar where she served as senior international editor. Prior to that, she was a personal finance reporter at the Daily and Sunday Telegraph.
Black was previously a trustee at Capital Canfield, having also held investment consultancy roles with LCP, Buck Consultants and AON.
They both joined Hargreaves Lansdown on 29 April 2019.
JTC
The Jersey-based fund management company has promoted Tony Whitney to chief commercial officer to bolster its commercial offerings.
Whitney’s role is newly-created as he moves from his previous position as group head of institutional client services.
He has spent 22 years at the firm and will also continue as managing director of JTC.
BNP Paribas AM
Grégory Taïeb has been named investment specialist within the multi-asset quantitative and solutions investment group.
He will be based in Paris and will work to promote BNP Paribas AM’s quantitative products in collaboration with the investment and sales teams.
Taïeb joins the asset management firm from Robecco in Paris where he held a similar position.
Pimco
Patrick Beuret joins the fixed income investment management company as executive vice president and head of Switzerland.
He will lead Pimco’s Swiss client management team and develop growth opportunities in the local market.
Beuret will be based in Zurich and he joins from JP Morgan Asset Management.
Sanlam UK
Following the acquisition of Thesis Asset Management, the financial services group has expanded its sales team.
Tom Whitfield has been named sales support executive to assist in the implementation of Sanlam Investments’ distribution strategy.
He joins Sanlam UK from Brewin Dolphin where he worked as an associate investment manager for seven years.
Dolfin
The independent wealth management platform has formed an advisory panel.
Rodney Baker-Bates, Stephen Kingsley, David Roper, and Roger Sanders will join Dolfin Group co-founder Roman Joukovski on the panel.
The four advisers will work with the firm’s board of directors to provide counsel and future strategies.
Gresham House
Alternative asset management company Gresham House has hired Samee Khan as general counsel.
Khan joins the firm from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority where he was responsible for establishing and leading the legal and compliance function of the private equity department.
He will be based in the London office and look after divisional transactions, product creation and general business legal matters.
Fidante Partners
Nora O’Mahony joins the international investment management business as head of product.
She will be based in the company’s London office and be responsible for the research and development of Fidante’s product range.
O’’Mahony joins from Pacific Asset Management where she developed and rolled out several funds.
