PEOPLE MOVES: Julius Baer, Chesnara, Deutsche Bank

Bank makes c-suite change, as life consolidator hires head of strategic development and investor relations

Julius Baer

Dieter Enkelmann will step down from his role as chief financial officer (CFO) on 1 July 2022.

Evie Kostakis has been appointed to succeed him as chief financial officer and as a member of the executive boards of Julius Baer.

She joined Julius Baer in 2013 as deputy head corporate development and strategy. Between 2017 and 2019, she served as deputy head investment management and head alternative investments.

Chesnara

The UK and European life insurance consolidator has named Sam Perowne as head of strategic development and investor relations.

In this new role, Perowne will be a member of the group executive committee, responsible for driving forward Chesnara’s wider strategic development. This will include delivery of future acquisitions as well as supporting investor engagement, reflecting the group’s increased focus on one of its three strategic pillars – acquiring life and pensions businesses.

He joins from Phoenix Group, where he was most recently head of corporate strategy and M&A.

Deutsche Bank

The banking giant has named Inigo Martos as regional chief executive of Iberia, chief country officer of Spain, chief executive of Deutsche Bank (Spain) and general manager of Deutsche Bank Madrid branch, subject to relevant approvals as of 1 July 2022.

Martos was most recently as head of Iberia for Credit Suisse’s international wealth management business.

He succeeds Antonio Rodriguez-Pina in the roles. Rodriguez-Pina will focus on his role as chairman of Deutsche Bank (Spain), effective 1 July 2022.

In addition, Martos will be appointed as head of the international private bank Spain on 1 January 2022.

He replaces Fernando Sousa in this position after he announced his plans to retire on 31 January 2022.

Bank J Safra Sarasin

Daniel Wild will join the group and take on the role of chief sustainability officer as a managing director on 1 March 2022.

He joins from Credit Suisse, where he was the global head of environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.

Brewin Dolphin

The wealth manager has appointed Rod Walley as the head of its Manchester office.

He has taken up the role from predecessor William Thomson.

Walley joined Brewin Dolphin in 2000 as a graduate stockbroker trainee and has worked his way up over his 21-year tenure at the company.

Sedulo

UK wealth firm has promoted Jonathan Fisher to equity partner within the business.

He has been with the company for 18 months, having joined from Grant Thornton, becoming head of financial planning and wealth management.
