JTC hires duo for new private office and Indosuez appoints Gulf market manager

JTC Private Office

JTC has hired Rebecca Bettany and Karen O’Hanlon as senior directors within its private wealth services division.

Bettany will lead the day-to-day running of the newly-launched JTC Private Office, a global family office offering.

O’Hanlon will relocate to Jersey from Asia, where she has spent most of her career, including spells in Geneva and Singapore.

Indosuez Wealth Management

Indosuez Wealth Management in Switzerland has appointed Haidar Hammoud as market manager for the Arabian Gulf.

He will be in charge of developing the Arabian Gulf business in coordination with all teams and in line with the global commercial strategy for the region.

Haidar also joins the Middle East management committee and reports directly to François Farjallah, the global head of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region for Indosuez Wealth Management.

Prior to joining Indosuez, Haidar was managing director and head of UAE and Oman for Barclays Private Bank since 2013.

UBS Global Wealth Management

UBS Global Wealth Management has appointed Adrian Jones as a managing director and client adviser in the ultra-high net worth (UHNW) UK team.

Jones joins from Coutts, where he spent 30 years advising many high profile and entrepreneurial clients across a variety of sectors, including sports and entertainment, private office and more recently the Coutts crown dependencies businesses.

Intrinsic

Intrinsic has announced Stephen Fryett, managing director of Intrinsic’s Wealth Network, will be leaving the business in mid-2019.

Fryett has been with Intrinsic since its formation in 2005, initially as network sales director before becoming managing director of the wealth network in 2016.

He leaves Intrinsic to take time out to seek new opportunities. His position will be transferred to Intrinsic Group managing director, Stephen Gazard, with the handover period beginning immediately.

Brewin Dolphin

Brewin Dolphin has appointed Scott Heslin as a financial planner in its Cambridge office.

He has over ten years’ experience as a financial planner. He will work closely with the head of office, Heather Sonnet, to expand Brewin Dolphin’s reach across Cambridgeshire.

Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin, Heslin was a financial planner at Tilney in Cambridge, where he managed client portfolios across East Anglia with a strong focus on Norfolk.

CISI

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has appointed Paul Garrard, as president of the CISI’s Guernsey branch.

In addition to serving on the CISI’s Guernsey regional committee, Garrard has almost 30 years’ experience in the financial services profession.

Following the merger with SG Hambros, Garrard now heads the Channel Island investment management department for Kleinwort Hambros, where the team overseas a range of investment strategies for private and institutional clients.

Mourant

Offshore legal and governance services, Mourant, has appointed departing Jersey Finance chief executive, Geoff Cook, as a consultant in early 2019.

After 12 years at Jersey Finance, Cook is transitioning to work with Mourant as part of a change in career direction.

Bedell Cristin

Law firm Bedell Cristin has appointed Catherine Cadman as head of knowledge, a newly-created role.

The position has been created as a result of Bedell Cristin’s “recent growth and an increased strategic emphasis on providing consistent client service across all of its offices”.

Cadman will be based in the firm’s Jersey office and will have oversight of its global presence across six jurisdictions.

With more than 20 years’ experience in knowledge management roles, at both onshore and offshore law firms, Cadman is tasked with maximising how knowledge is captured, shared and applied across Bedell Cristin.
