PEOPLE MOVES: JTC, HSBC Retirement Services, Whitman AM

Financial services firm names private client COO, as life subsidiary appoints head of distribution

JTC

The financial services group has made 92 promotions across its global offices, including four senior appointments.

The promotions, which cover all levels from administrator to divisional chief operating officers.

They include employees from offices in Jersey, California, South Africa, London, Amsterdam, Guernsey, Miami, Edinburgh, South Dakota, Mauritius, Luxembourg, Massachusetts, and Cayman.

Within its private client services division, Tracey McFarlane has been appointed chief operating officer.

HSBC Retirement Services

The HSBC Life subsidiary has appointed James Fouracre as head of distribution.

He moves to the newly created role on secondment having held a range of senior distribution and strategy roles at HSBC across the wholesale and institutional asset management businesses at a regional and global level after joining the group in 2014.

Whitman Asset Management

The fund manager has expanded its private client team.

Riccardo Persona joins as an investment manager from Brewin Dolphin and Andrew Stevens joins from Quilter Cheviot to bring all trading in house and launch an execution only business for private clients.

IM Global Partner

Jamie Hammond has been named as deputy chief executive – head of distribution for Emea.

Before joining IM Global Partner, Hammond was chief executive of AllianceBernstein (UK) and head of the Emea client group.

Accuro Trust

The firm has made several promotions within its Jersey office.

Katie Douglas, Alex Zomparelli and Scott King have all been promoted to associate director and Pauline Dron to private office associate in its private client operation.

Douglas joined Accuro in 2017 and manages a portfolio of ultra-high net worth families who typically have a connection to the UK.

Zomparelli also joined the business in 2017 and has a focus on private clients resident in the Middle East and Africa.

King has a varied portfolio of both private client and corporate structures and has developed a particular specialism around property transactions since joining Accuro in 2018. Dron has worked for Accuro since 2014 and is now part of the private office team.

Fidelity International

The global asset manager has hired Ashish Kochar as portfolio manager.

Kochar joins from Columbia Threadneedle and has over 16 years’ investment experience spanning across management of US, Global and Absolute Return products.

The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI)

Miriam Henke has become the association’s secretary general.

Before joining ALFI, Henke was head of the company secretariat of Aberdeen Standard Investments Luxembourg.

DWS Group

Vanessa Wang joins the firm as head of client coverage Apac.

More recently, Wang had been with Amundi since 2016, working in two positions: senior managing director and head of institutional business in the US, and head of institutional business in north Asia.

Value Partners

The firm has named Winnie Lam as the group managing director of chief operating officer’s office.

Most recently, she spent 14 years as head of operations, Asia at First Sentier Investors.

Separately, Value Partners has appointed Nikita Ng as finance director.

She was most recently a financial controller at Fortress Investment Group & Mount Kellett Capital, a multi-strategy investment firm.

Candriam

The global multi-asset manager focused on sustainable and responsible investments has appointed three investment professionals into the thematic global equity team.

Marie Lannoy and Jonas Desomer both join as equity fund managers, and Pierre Vaurice as medtech analyst.
