JP Morgan Asset Management
Jasper Berens, head of UK funds at JPMAM, is leaving the firm to “pursue other opportunities”.
Berens, who has worked at JPMAM for 20 years, took on the head of UK funds role in March 2012. His overall remit was head of UK funds business with a particular focus on UK intermediaries.
From a funds perspective, Berens was also responsible for the crown dependencies including Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
The group says Berens will continue to serve the business for an interim period to ensure a smooth transition.
The existing UK funds leadership team, which includes the head of UK intermediary, head of strategic relationships for the UK and head of UK investment trusts, will now report to Massimo Greco, head of Emea funds.
Having been appointed to the role in March 2016, Dale Erdei remains head of UK intermediary sales.
Tim Mitchell, who joined JPMAM in January 2014 as head of investment trust sales and investor relations, was promoted to head of strategic relationships for UK funds in December 2017. In this role, he oversees a newly combined team including wealth management sales, investment trust sales and the investor relations team.
Rothschild
Alexandre Rothschild will replace his father David as chairman of Rothschild Investment Bank in June this year.
Alexandre, who is executive deputy chairman, first joined the bank in 2008 after working in both investment banking and private equity at Bank of America and Baer Stearns.
According to newspaper the Financial Times, the change follows a push by Rothschild to move away from its French and British advisory business as it looks to ride out less buoyant periods in Europe’s mergers and acquisitions market.
Julius Baer
Jean-Luc Le Tocq and Craig Allen, who both joined Julius Baer the firm in early 2016, have been appointed to the firm’s Guernsey branch management board.
Le Tocq has 28 years’ industry experience and is a chartered wealth manager. He spent 13 years on the Channel Islands’ management board at his previous employer, Credit Suisse.
His focus will be on leading an experienced team of relationship managers working with locally-based clients, Channel Islands-based structures and UK resident, non-domiciled individuals.
Allen, who has 20 years’ industry experience, oversees the investment management business locally on the island.
He is also a chartered wealth manager and draws upon the bank’s research to manage the portfolios of clients.
Prior to joining Julius Baer, Allen served on four different boards across the UK and Guernsey for another Swiss bank.
Julius Baer has had a presence in Guernsey since 1989 and has more than 100 staff on the island.
