Stephanie Flanders is to leave JP Morgan Asset Management, while Prudential has named a financial planning and strategy director for its advisory firm. Mirae Asset Global Investments has a new head of Nordic sales.

JP Morgan Asset Management

Stephanie Flanders is to leave JP Morgan AM and move to newswire Bloomberg in October. The former BBC economics editor will lead a new 120-strong economics desk, according to a memo from Bloomberg’s editor-in-chief John Micklethwait, reports Financial News.

Flanders joined the asset manager in 2013 as chief market strategist for the UK and Europe. Commenting on Twitter, Flanders said she is “excited to return to journalism to lead [a] world-beating team of economists & economic reporters”.

Prudential Financial Planning

Advisory firm Prudential Financial Planning has named Peter Coleman as financial planning and strategy director. He will have responsibility for developing and delivering Prudential Financial Planning’s growth strategy and lead a team of 300 adviser partners.

Latterly chief financial officer at life and protection specialist Lifesearch, Coleman was previously commercial director, chief financial officer and chief executive of Positive Solutions.

Mirae Asset Global Investments

Mirae Asset has appointed Christina Eriksson as head of Nordic sales. Based in London, she is responsible for driving the distribution of Mirae Asset’s investment solutions to clients in the Nordic countries.

Eriksson brings with her with 14 years’ experience serving clients across institutional, wholesale and retail markets with a focus on emerging markets.

Before joining Mirae Asset, she was a client director at Investec Asset Management covering the Nordics and Switzerland. Prior to Investec, she served at Dimensional Fund Advisors based in London managing a portfolio of institutional clients and building relationships with European and global investment consultants.

Franklin Templeton

Patrick Lutz has been promoted to country head for Franklin Templeton Switzerland, effective from 3 July. Based at the firm’s Zurich offices, he will be leading the local sales and marketing teams and develop Franklin Templeton’s retail and institutional businesses in Switzerland.

Lutz joined the firm in 2008 and has held a number of roles, most recently head of retail sales Switzerland. He has 27 years’ experience in the Swiss financial sector and has previously worked for Schroder & Co Bank and Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB).

European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA)

Efama has elected M&G Securities’ chief executive William Nott as president and Amundi’s chief financial officer Nicolas Calcoen as vice president for two-year terms.

Nott, who has just completed a two-year term as vice president, succeeds Alexander Schindler. He has been chief executive of M&G Securities, the retail funds business of M&G, since 2006 and is also chief strategy officer of M&G Group.

Calcoen has been chief financial officer and head of finance & strategy at Amundi Group since October 2012. He has also been an economist with the department of public finances at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., and has held deputy director positions in the cabinet of the Minister of the Economy, Finances and Industry and the cabinet of the Minister of Budget, Public Accounts and Civil Administration in France.
