Asset manager names global COO, as fund administrator hires head of business development

Janus Henderson

The international asset management firm has named James Lowry as global chief operating officer, effective from 1 October 2021.

He currently works as chief operating officer of State Street’s investment management platform division State Street Alpha.

Ocorian

Marc Van Rijckevorsel has taken on the role of head of business development at the fund administrator and fiduciary services provider.

He joins from Intertrust, where he most recently was commercial director, and will be based in New York.

AIG

The insurance group hired Michael Aitchison as chief actuary for its UK life arm, effective from 2 August 2021.

He joins from Royal London, where he spent the last five years as financial risk director.

Brooks Macdonald

Ling Au-Yeung has become investment director within the company’s Aim portfolio service.

She was previously at Rathbones, where she spent three tears as a smaller companies and Aim analyst.

AHR Private Clients

The wealth firm has made several senior hires.

Adam Edwards, Philip Lee and Luke Turner have all been recruited as private client directors.

Edwards joins from Credit Suisse, where he spent over 14 years advising high net worth (HNW) individuals in the UK.

Lee is a former director in the HNW team at UBS; while Turner joins from W1 Investment Group to manage a portfolio of HNW clients.

Additionally, Roger Gifford has become head of sales at the firm. He was previously at Nationwide Building Society, where he worked at for over a decade and was most recently a regional director.

Integritas Wealth Partners

Philip Legrand has become a senior wealth partner at the financial services firm.

He has held roles at UBS Jersey and HSBC Jersey in the past.

Raymond James

The wealth management firm has opened a branch in Cheltenham and Paul Withehead will become its principal.

He was a divisional director at Brewin Dolphin, where he worked at for over 10 years.

The Unisure Group

Penny Towers joins the life and health insurer as business development underwriter.

She was previously at Utmost Worldwide, where she spent the last 10 years developing business in the group risk sector in Africa, Channel Islands, Gibraltar and Malta.

Tilney Smith & Williamson

The wealth management firm has made two hires within its investment management team.

James Green becomes investment manager and Justine Harper takes on the role of executive account manager.

They both join from multi-family office Sandaire where Green focused on investment research for the last six years, while Harper was a senior operations manager for eight years.

Close Brothers Group

Patricia Halliday has taken on an independent non-executive directorship at financial services firm, effective from 1 August 2021.

She will also become a member of the board’s risk and audit committees as well as a director of the firm’s banking subsidiary, Close Brothers Limited.

Most recently, Halliday was chief risk officer at Santander UK.
