PEOPLE MOVES: Investec W&I, UBS, Embark Group

Wealth firm hires chief commercial officer, while private bank names president of Swiss unit

Investec Wealth & Investment

The wealth firm has named Barbara-Ann King to the newly created role of chief commercial officer.

She brings 25 years of experience in wealth and asset management for private clients and family offices, including seven years with Citi in New York and eight years with Barclays Wealth in London.

UBS

Axel Lehmann has decided to step down from his current roles as president personal and corporate banking and president of UBS Switzerland as of 31 January 2021.

He will leave UBS after a transition phase ending on 31 July 2021.

Sabine Keller-Busse, currently group chief operating officer and president Emea, will succeed Lehmann as president of personal and corporate banking and president of UBS Switzerland.

The succession for the group chief operating officer role will be announced at a later date.

Iqbal Khan, co-president of global wealth management, will succeed Keller-Busse as president Emea, in addition to his current responsibilities.

Embark Group

The firm has reorganised its advisory distribution team by bringing together its pensions and platform distribution teams.

Simon Hayter will oversee the national intermediated advised team and Craig Spittal will lead the group’s key accounts team.

Rob Henderson will continue to lead the relationship team supporting Openwork.

Asset Management One International

Gianni Casella has been named as chief investment officer.

He succeeds Eiichi Watatani, who having been based in London for the past five years, has now completed his assignment and will return to Tokyo.

Casella will move into his new role from his current position at AMOI as head of fixed income.

AllianceBernstein

The global investment manager has hired Onur Erzan as head of global client group, effective 4 January 2021.

Erzan joins AB from McKinsey, where we he is a senior partner and co-leader of the firm’s ealth management and asset management practice.

Ninety One

The global investment manager has named Nigel Smith as managing director of its UK client group.

Smith was previously global head of product development.
