PEOPLE MOVES: Invesco, Lombard International, Brewin Dolphin

Veteran to retire from investment manager, while wealth firm names group COO

Invesco 

Jeff Taylor, head of European equities, is to retire at the end of the year. 

He spent almost 20 years in the role and 23 years at the investment management firm. 

John Surplice will succeed him on 1 January 2021; he is currently the co-manager of the Invesco European Equity Fund together with Taylor. 

Surplice has been at the investment management firm for 24 years. 

Additionally, James Rutland has been hired as a fund manager within the European equities team. He spent the last five years at Schroders in a similar role.  

Lombard International 

The wealth and succession planning business has promoted Michael Gordon to group chief operating officer. 

He will be taking on the newly created role while still serving as chief executive for the US business, a role he has held since May 2016. 

Brewin Dolphin

Brewin Dolphin’s chief operating officer Grant Parkinson has resigned.

He will be replaced by Sarah Houlston, current head of change and transformation.

Grant will remain in his role until the end of September 2020, and Houlston will take over on 1 October 2020.

She has been with Brewin Dolphin since February 2018.

7IM 

The investment management firm has made three senior hires within its sales team. 

Andrew Watson has been recruited as head of sales management from M&G, where he spent 24 years holding a number of senior positions, and most recently was head of UK wholesale sales. 

Simon Church and Gareth Perry have been named business development manager team leader and business development manager, respectively. 

Church will focus on the home counties, while Perry will work on the south-west of the UK. 

Church joins from Tatton where he led the sales team in London, whereas Perry was previously at Zurich working as a wealth account manager. 

Bank of Singapore 

Lim Leong Guan has joined Bank of Singapore as global head of products. 

He replaces Marc van de Walle, who left the firm to join Standard Chartered as its global head of wealth management. 

Guan was previously at UBS Wealth Management where he served as head of wealth planning for Asia- Pacific and head of investment products and services for Singapore. 

Indosuez 

The wealth management firm has recruited Emile Salawi as head of key clients and single family offices development. 

He will be based in Geneva. 

Salawi was most recently at BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Switzerland where he worked from 2011 covering a similar market. 

Capital Group 

Investment firm Capital Group has expanded its European client relations team. 

Amy Halford will become a vice president and senior manager in global client services for Europe, based in London. 

She will manage client relations across the company’s European financial intermediary and institutional client base. 

Halford joins from Blackrock where she was a director in client service management.
