Former CEO returns to top job at technology provider and insurer names Swiss director

Intelliflo

Nick Eatock has returned as the firm’s chief executive following the departure of Hamish Purdey.

Purdey joined the company in 2014 when Eatock took on the role of executive chairman.

Eatock will keep his chair position alongside the top job.

Lombard International Assurance

The firm has promoted Luca Bertacchi to director, head of Switzerland and international markets.

He will drive business growth across Lombard’s three Swiss hubs in Zurich, Geneva and Lugano.

He joined the insurer in 2011 as country manager for the Italian market, later taking on the role of regional director for central and southern Europe in 2016.

HSBC

The bank’s Jersey office has named Tania Sobey as country head of retail banking and wealth management.

She was previously head of retail distribution for HSBC Expat in Jersey when she joined in 2016 and has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Mercer

Nick Rosenblatt has joined the consultancy firm as wealth management proposition leader.

In the newly created role, he will be responsible for developing Mercer’s investment proposition to help wealth managers manage risk and reduce costs for their clients.

He was previously at Russell Investments where he worked as head of wholesale and partnerships, focusing on UK and offshore distribution of funds.

Sanlam

Recruitment galore at Sanlam UK with eight hires all over the country.

Sarb Chahal and Paul John have been named senior wealth planners in the London office, and Jean-Michel Morelli has been hired as a wealth planner in the Monument office. They join from Tideway Investment, Close Brothers and St James’s Place, respectively.

Paul Chadman joined as a senior wealth planner from NFU Mutual and will be based in the firm’s Fareham office.

Sanlam’s Briol office has named Stuart Arnold as senior wealth planner and Chris Halliwell as a wealth planner, who join firm Charles Darby and Create Financial Consulting, respectively.

Lastly, Mike Walker, from Prest, and Jamie Reed, from Pitch UK, have joined the Preston office as wealth planners.

Capital Group

The investment firm has appointed Marco Büchler as managing director for financial intermediaries in Switzerland.

He will be responsible for the company’s expansion in the country and will be based in Zurich.

Büchler joins from RobecoSAM where he was head of wholesale and client relations in Switzerland.

UniCredit Wealth Management

The wealth management arm of the Italian bank has hired Stefano Vecchi as head of wealth management Italy.

He will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s business in the country.

Vecchi is set to succeed Paolo Langé as chief executive of Cordusio Sim, part of the UniCredit Group specialising in wealth management, in March 2020 when Langé will take on the role of chairman of the board of directors.

Westpac

The chief financial officer for the Australian bank Peter King is to retire in 2020, after a 25-year career with Westpac.

He took on the role in 2014 having previously been deputy chief financial officer.

Sanctum Wealth

The Mumbai-based wealth management firm has named Sarita Kamat as executive director, relationship management.

She joins from Axis Bank where she was senior vice president and head of investment solutions.

FE Invest

The discretionary managed portfolio provider has recruited two senior investment professionals.

Catherine Makin joined as a business development manager from Barclays Wealth Management, while Steve Thompson has taken on a similar role and was previously at Morningstar Europe.
