HSBC
The banking group has made three senior appointments in its wealth and personal banking investment unit.
Effective immediately, Willem Sels will be global chief investment officer of private banking and wealth management, while Jan-Marc Fergg will be global head of wealth products, ESG and mutual funds, and Patrick Boumalham takes on the role of global head of ultra-high net worth solutions.
Since joining HSBC in 2009, Sels was a fixed income strategist and the global chief market strategist for private banking.
Prior to HSBC, Fergg spent 20 years at UBS in a variety of senior roles.
Boumalham has been global head of markets products within HSBC Private Bank since 2017.
Credit Suisse
Simon Politzer will return to the UK as the chief operating officer for Credit Suisse (UK) and market area UK, according to a memo seen by International Adviser.
He joins from the bank’s Zurich office, where he has been heading up its UK international platform for the last two years.
Affinity Private Wealth
The wealth firm has named Michelle Tring as a director of its trust company.
Tring was most recently associated director at Estera.
Murphy Wealth
The UK financial planning firm has appointed John Moran as executive chair, and Neil Bage as chief behavioural officer.
Moran joined Murphy Wealth as commercial director in February 2020.
Bage is the co-founder of Be-IQ, the behavioural finance platform.
Tilney Smith & Williamson
The wealth manager has hired Richard Lindop, Lindsay Spencer and James Grayson as investment management directors.
They all previously worked at Brooks Macdonald.
Lindop joins Tilney Smith & Williamson in Leeds, while Spencer and Grayson will be based in Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Southampton office.
AllianceBernstein
The investment firm has named Patricia Molpeceres as sales director in the Iberian team.
Molpeceres was most recently at Franklin Templeton.
Coupland Cardiff Asset Management
The Asian equities specialist has hired Alvin Lizarondo as head of discretionary sales.
He joins from Columbia Threadneedle, where he was responsible for overseeing London discretionary clients.
Brown Shipley
The Quintet subsidiary has appointed Rupert Cecil as head of charity and philanthropy.
He joins Brown Shipley from Union Bancaire Privee.
Asiaciti Trust
The trust firm has appointed Ross Belhomme as managing director for its Singapore office.
Belhomme relocates from Switzerland, where he was concurrently the managing director of Alvarium Investment’s fiduciary business and a director of Guggenheim Investment Partners.
Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
The Singapore regulator has named Sing Chiong Leong as deputy managing director of markets and development.
He takes over the position from Jacqueline Loh, who will remain as deputy managing director of corporate development.
Leong will also continue in his current role as assistant managing director of markets and investment until a successor is appointed.
