Holborn Assets

Craig O’Sullivan joined Holborn Assets’ Dubai team as a senior associate in June.

He was formerly at deVere Acuma for five years and holds a Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) level three certificate in wealth and investment management.

Outside of his career, O’Sullivan is an avid sportsman and has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

State Street

State Street has appointed Kamal Jandu as head of insurance services Asia Pacific, effective from 1 August 2018.

In this newly-created role, Jandu is responsible for defining and executing State Street’s regional insurance services strategy, helping maintain and grow the insurance services business, and coordinating across business units to deliver an integrated client experience.

Based in Hong Kong, Jandu reports to Ivan Matviak, global head of insurance solutions, based in Boston, and Ian Martin, head of global services and global exchange for Asia Pacific.

Jandu has 30 years of experience in the financial institutions sector globally. He joined State Street from Citibank, where he was the senior client manager for the insurance sector, managing the top regional client relationships for the securities services business.

Nucleus

Nucleus has recruited Sam Hampton-Smith as head of product development to add to the platform’s technology capabilities.

Hampton-Smith has joined Nucleus from Edinburgh-based cybersecurity firm ZoneFox, where he was head of engineering and of user experience.

An experienced technology professional, Hampton-Smith brings a strong track record of observing customer journeys and building technology propositions that subsequently improve upon the user experience for a range of different stakeholders.

Reporting into Andy Smith, chief technology officer, Hampton-Smith will be responsible for leading the development team at Nucleus, managing regular software releases and upgrades, as well as handling the technical design and testing of new functions.

Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse has named two veteran bankers to lead its Asia Pacific private banking business following the unit’s chief executive leaving to join AMP in Australia.

Francois Monnet will take on the role of head of private banking in north Asia and Benjamin Cavalli will be responsible for private banking in south Asia.

Credit Suisse said the new management structure would result in closer proximity to clients, shorten decision-making lines and increase focus in a region.

Transact

Integrafin, parent company of Transact, has nabbed investment trust specialist Caroline Banszky for the board and named its interim replacement for outgoing chairman Patrick Snowball.

Christopher Munro, who has been a non-executive director since 1 February 2017, has become temporary chair of the board following Snowball’s resignation on 31 July.

Munro was chief executive of River & Mercantile Investment Management between 1994 and 1996. More recently, he was a director at Beckwith Asset Management and a founding partner at London and Continental.

He will remain in the role until a permanent replacement is found.

Banszky is currently a non-executive director of FTSE100 private equity and infrastructure investment company 3i Group. She is also on the board of an impact investing closed-ended fund, Gore Street Energy Fund Storage. She chairs the audit and compliance committee and is a member of the remuneration committee at 3i.

In 2016, she resigned as managing director at independent global fiduciary services business The Law Debenture Corporation, which also ran an investment trust.
