PEOPLE MOVES: Heartwood WM, Saunderson House, HSBC

Wealth manager appoints CEO as it rebrands, while advice firm names head of financial planning

Heartwood Wealth Management

As the firm rebrands to its Swedish parent company’s name, Graham Turner will become chief executive of the business, subject to regulatory approval.

He was previously regional head of Handelsbanken Central UK.

Heartwood will collectively trade as Handelsbanken Wealth & Asset Management.

Saunderson House

Lee Bailey has taken on the role of financial planning director at Saunderson House.

He was previously at Odey Wealth Management, where he spent the last decade giving financial advice to high net worth clients.

HSBC

In a push to promote its wealth management services in the Greater Bay area, the bank hired singer, actor and dancer Aaron Kwok Fu-shing as an ambassador.

He will promote the bank’s Jade private banking and wealth management services as part of HSBC’s efforts to tap into Chinese wealth.

Brewin Dolphin

The wealth management firm has promoted Lucie Gordon to head of its Newcastle office.

She will succeed William Baker, who will retire at the end of 2021. In the meantime, Baker will keep working as a senior investment manager.

Gordon joined the Newcastle office in 2014 as a business development manager, and then became head of intermediary sales in 2018.

Mirabaud Asset Management

The investment arm of the Swiss wealth management company has hired Daniele Scilingo as head of Swiss equities.

He will succeed Paul Schibli as he retires in 2021.

Scilingo will formally take on the role on 1 December 2020, but has already been working with the team. He spent most of his career at Pictet Asset Management both in Zurich and London, running the Swiss equity desk.

Sandringham Financial Partners

Sue Watson joined Sandringham as an advising partner.

She is based in Glasgow, with over 30 years’ experience in financial services, and specialises in pensions, investments and estate planning.

Avellemy

The UK asset manager has appointed Graham Bentley as chairman and non-executive director.

He has been the chair of the board’s investment committee since 2018, a role that will be filled by Steven Lloyd.

Clarien Bank

The Bermuda-based bank made three hires.

Jennifer Hanson joins as senior vice president, head of trust and family office, and will be responsible for driving the growth of the wealth management arm.

Alistair Melvin and Dajon Richardson have taken on the roles of investment analyst and associate investment analyst, respectively, at Clarien Investments.

Prosperity IFA

Ashley Townsend has taken on the role of independent financial planner at Prosperity IFA.

He previously held a similar role at Succession Wealth, where he worked for over five years.
