Omar Luchetti has resigned as head of business development for Globaleye.

Luchetti worked for six and a half years at Globaleye, before being appointed global head of business development in April 2017. He was Asia Pacific head of business development and prior to this a senior business development manager for Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.

A LinkedIn post by Luchetti said he was resigning to seek new challenges in his career. He said he was leaving without another job lined-up and would be taking “some time off” before exploring new roles.

Carrick Wealth

Carrick has appointed Rashay Makan as a director of strategic projects to the company’s board.

Makan has been with Carrick since 2014, starting as a business development manager, he was promoted to managing director of the Carrick Development Academy and now to the board.

He will maintain close ties to the academy, however his appointment to the board will see him playing a bigger role in the firm’s expansion into Africa.

Fidelity International

Fidelity International has appointed Hugh Prendergast in the newly created role, global head of product.

Prendergast will be in charge of coordinating Fidelity’s product teams around the world and will be responsible for continuing to develop its global product strategy.

He will officially join the firm on 19 February and report to Bart Grenier, global head of asset management at Fidelity International.

Prendergast joins the fund group after 16 years at Pioneer Investments where he was most recently head of strategic product and marketing, covering Europe, Latin America, US offshore and Asia.

Hermes Investment Management

Hermes has appointed Amit Mehta as director and senior Asia analyst in its emerging markets team.

Based in London, Mehta will report to head of emerging markets Gary Greenberg.

In this role, he will be responsible for managing Asian stocks, providing research, analysis and generating models on existing and potential areas of investment.

Legal & General

Legal & General’s retail retirement division has announced three senior appointments.

Sara McLeish joins the team as strategy and commercial director and will assume responsibility for divisional strategy and marketing, together with the expansion of Legal & General’s retirement proposition.

Prior to joining Legal & General, McLeish was director at EY’s Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (Emeia) financial services advisory practice.

Jon Scannell has been appointed distribution director of retirement income. Scannell joins the company from MetLife where he worked for 12 years in various leadership roles.

Lastly, Meg Dickens joins the company as director of marketing acquisition. Prior to joining Legal & General, Dickens worked for Just Retirement as head of marketing strategy and planning.

She will be responsible for driving the day-to-day marketing activity for Legal & General’s retirement products through all distribution channels.

BNP Paribas

BNP Paribas plans to strengthen its emerging markets team through several new appointments.

London-based deputy head of emerging market fixed income, Jean Charles Sambor, said the firm will employ five to six people in total.

The roles will include a Singapore-based portfolio manager, Hong Kong-based analysts covering corporate and sovereign debt, and two or three China-based analysts looking at the country’s onshore bond market.

At present the firm has no onshore fixed income capabilities in Asia despite managing an onshore renminbi bond fund.

Sambor did not provide details of the other roles in Hong Kong and Singapore, but noted that they would not be focusing on specific markets or regions.

James Hambro & Partners

Investment manager James Hambro & Partners has recruited Camilla Cecil as the company’s Asia specialist.

Prior to joining Hambro, Cecil was Hong Kong-based and was deputy fund manager of the Ruffer Pacific Fund.

Cecil spent six years at Ruffer, the last two working alongside the firm’s head of Asia in Hong Kong, from where she made regular company visits across the region.

Her appointment follows JH&P’s recruitment last year of the US and global equity specialist, William Francklin, as the firm builds its direct equity expertise beyond the UK.

Cecil will work closely with Francklin, visiting China and Japan to conduct company meetings and recommending stocks for client portfolios.

Reporting to Virginie Maisonneuve, chief investment officer, Eastspring, Graham joined Eastspring in Singapore on 15 January 2018.
