Generali Insurance Asset Management
Francesco Martorana has been named the next chief executive of the Italian firm based in Milan.
He took on the role on 1 April 2019, succeeding the departing chief executive, Santo Borsellino.
Martorana will also keep his current position as head of investments. He has been with Generali Insurance AM since 2013, when he joined as head of group asset liability management and strategic asset allocation.
Borsellino will take on the chair of the firm’s board.
Rathbones Investment Management International
The firm’s Jersey branch has named Joel Graves as its investment director. He will be responsible for managing multi-asset discretionary portfolios for private clients, offshore trusts and charities.
He previously worked for Barclays Bank Offshore and as a portfolio manager at Smith & Williamson, both based in Jersey.
Pimfa
Four people have joined the Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association’s (Pimfa) board.
Mark Duckworth is the chief executive of financial services network Openwork; Peter Hall serves as global head of wealth management for the Schroders Group; Richard Wilson is the chief executive of online platform Interactive Investor; and Stuart Newey currently works at Coutts and Co as the managing director and head of client service and delivery.
Wells Fargo AM
The American asset manager has hired Ed Martin as senior solutions manager for the multi-asset solutions team.
He will be based in San Francisco and will be responsible for building out the firm’s capabilities for insurance companies.
Jersey Finance
The promotional body for Jersey’s financial services industry, has named two business development directors in its Dubai offices.
Based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, Mihaela Moldoveanu and Faizal Bhana will be responsible to expand the firm’s promotional work in several jurisdictions.
Moldoveanu will focus on the Middle East and African markets, while Bhana will work on the Gulf markets.
Nikko AM
Six senior corporate managing directors have joined the Japanese asset manager composing the firm’s global executive board.
Yuji Ooyagi, Hiroki Tsujimura and Osamu Morita have been named executive vice presidents, while Kunihiro Asai, Stefanie Drews and Maho Nakada will take on the role of senior corporate managing directors.
All hires will be effective from 1 May 2019 and they will join Junichi Sayato, chairman and co-chief executive, and Hideo Abe, president and co-chief executive, to the board.
Tilney
The financial planning and investment management group has expanded its telephone advice team with two hires.
Jules McBride and Matthew Turner have been named associate advisers based in the firm’s Bristol office.
McBride joins from Hargreaves Lansdown where he worked on the pensions helpdesk; Turner was an employee benefit consultant for three years.
Ramsey Crookall
The Isle of Man-based private wealth manager has recruited Stephen Meadows to join its dealing and advisory broking team.
He will provide advice and dealing services to private clients, intermediaries and asset managers in both London and international markets.
Additionally, he will also be part of the firm’s investment committee.
Haysmacintyre
The accountancy firm had hired two directors to its private client and trust team.
Kay Mind will advice non-resident and non-domiciled clients moving to the UK, non-resident trustees on UK tax legislation as well as on the implications of offshore trusts to UK residents.
Stephanie Parker will focus on tax issues for offshore trusts with UK beneficiaries or assets and on inheritance tax.
Mind joins from Kreston Reeves, while Parker used to serve at accountancy firm Creaseys.
