PEOPLE MOVES: Financial Ombudsman Service, Gam, HSBC AM

CEO steps down from ombudsman, while investment firm hires head of marketing and client experience

Financial Ombudsman Service

Caroline Wayman, chief ombudsman and chief executive of the service is stepping down from the role on 16 April.

She spent 22 years at the ombudsman and nearly seven years as chief executive.

An open process for recruiting Wayman’s successor will begin shortly, the FOS said.

Gam Investments

The investment firm has hired Rob Page as head of marketing and client experience.

He was most recently chief marketing officer at Janus Henderson and prior to that, he held senior marketing roles at Hermes Fund Managers, Ardevora Asset Management and Liontrust Asset Management.

HSBC Asset Management

The asset manager has appointed Dominic Clabby as head of ETF strategy.

Clabby joins from Invesco ETFs, formerly Source ETFs, where he headed the product engagement function.

Sesame Bankhall Group

Emma Thomson has joined the firm in the newly created role of head of protection and general insurance propositions.

She has over 20 years’ industry experience and expertise in a range of protection specialist roles, most recently as product strategist at British Friendly.

Quilter

The wealth management business has named Tazim Essani as an independent non-executive director and member of the board remuneration committee, with effect from 9 March 2021.

Essani has over 30 years’ strategy and M&A experience in senior executive roles including at Close Brothers, Santander UK and GE Capital.

BennBridge

The boutique investment business has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Naureen Khan, Dicken Watson and Charles Oldmeadow.

Khan will be managing director of client group UK and Europe and joins from Acadian Asset Management.

Watson will be chief business officer and general counsel and was previously chief operating officer, Emea at OppenheimerFunds.

Oldmeadow will join as director of client group UK and Europe and was previously at Invesco.

Mirabaud Asset Management

The investment arm of the Mirabaud Group has promoted Nicolas Cremieux to co-head of the convertible bonds team.

Further to this, Al Cattermole is named deputy portfolio manager for the Mirabaud – Global High Yield Bonds and Mirabaud – Global Short Duration funds.

Based in Paris, Nicolas Cremieux will co-head the convertible bonds team of four alongside Renaud Martin.
