Private banking group bolsters IAM offering, asset manager names head of global product team

EFG

The financial services firm has strengthened its independent asset management (IAM) business in Hong Kong.

Kitty Chou is joining EFG as head of independent asset managers, north Asia.

She most recently served as Hong Kong hub head, global financial intermediary markets at UBS.

Kenneth Chan has been named deputy head of independent asset managers, north Asia.

Before joining EFG, he served as head of business development for global financial intermediary markets at UBS.

Karen Ho, Amanda Fong and Alice Chan will also join Chan and Chou at EFG, having also previously worked at UBS.

First State Investments

The investment firm has named Kerry Baronet as head of its newly created global product team.

Based in London, she was previously head of product for Emea at First State, responsible for the UK and Irish pooled fund platforms sold across Europe and Asia.

The asset manager has also appointed Hendrie Koster to lead the investment product research and assurance team from Sydney.

He was previously head of product and strategy for Australia at Nikko Asset Management.

Banque Havilland

Olivier Beghin has been named head of private banking in Luxembourg.

He joins from Arche Associates, where he held the position as head of business development and wealth structuration.

TwinFocus

The boutique multi-family office has hired Jan Meyer as director of portfolio advisory in its London office.

Meyer joins TwinFocus from Kleinwort Hambros, where he spent nearly eight years as a senior investment adviser for the private bank’s key global clients.
