PEOPLE MOVES: Eastspring, Aberdeen Standard, Axa IM

Prudential subsidiary hires CFO and head of intermediaries, as asset manager names global insurance head

Eastspring Investments

The Asian investment management arm of Prudential has named Francis Woo as chief financial officer and Joyce Chan as head of intermediaries.

Based in Singapore, Woo is responsible for the financial management of the business and will work closely with the regional teams.

He will also become a member of the firm’s management committee.

Previously, Woo was chief financial offer for Asia at TPG Capital Asia.

As head of intermediaries in Hong Kong, Chan will be responsible for driving the sales and distribution of Eastspring’s products through wholesale and intermediary distribution channels.

She joins from PineBridge Investments Asia.

Aberdeen Standard Investments

The asset manager has named Aileen Mathieson as its global head of insurance following the retirement of Stephen Acheson.

She will take responsibility of ASI’s global insurance remit in addition to her previous responsibilities as global head of strategic platform investment solutions.

Mathieson joined ASI in April 2019 from Zurich Insurance Group, where she was chief investment officer and UK head of wealth management at Zurich UK.

Axa Investment Managers

Godefroy de Colombe has been appointed global chief operating officer.

Based in Paris, Colombe will oversee operations, IT, data, digital, innovation, security and risk and compliance as well as trading operations.

He joins from Direct Assurance, Axa’s property and casualty e-insurance business, where he was chief executive.

SCB Julius Baer

The Thai wealth management joint venture between Siam Commercial Bank and Julius Baer has appointed Lalitphat Toranavikrai as chief executive.

Toranavikrai is currently head of private banking at Siam Commercial Bank.

Since joining SCB in 2008, Toranavikrai has held various senior management roles covering the wealth management business.

Prior to that, she was a senior banker at RBS Coutts in Singapore and deputy head of corporate and investment banking at BNP Paribas Thailand.

MLC Wealth

The wealth arm of National Australia Bank (NAB) has named Darren McKenzie as chief technology and operations officer.

McKenzie joins MLC from RSA Insurance, where he was chief operating officer of UK and international.

AllianceBernstein

Alexander Hoffmann has become head of the firm’s global financial intermediaries business.

He joined AB in 2014 as director of sales in the Dach (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region, based in Munich.

Hoffman will be responsible for setting and implementing AB’s strategy for these key global relationships and he will work closely with the firm’s local management and sales teams around the world.

Markus Rottler has joined the company to take on Hoffman’s role as director of sales in Dach.

He has 15 years of experience, most recently at Macquarie Investment Management, where he oversaw wholesale distribution in Germany.

Aviva Investors

The global asset management business of Aviva has hired Apiramy Jeyarajah as head of UK wholesale.

Jeyarajah will be responsible for growing the firm’s relationships with intermediary clients, including financial advisers and discretionary asset managers, in the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

She has over 14 years’ industry experience and joins Aviva Investors after six years at HSBC Global Asset Management.

Elsewhere, Rula Ipsaryaris has joined the firm from Vanguard as head of client solutions, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Both will report to TJ Voskamp, director of client solutions, UK and Europe.

Indosuez Wealth Management

The firm has bolstered its Asia business with the appointment of four relationship managers.

Priscilla Cheong, Lau Sim Yee and Ho Yee Lin have joined the firm’s Singapore office, while Eddie Hui is based in Hong Kong.

Cheong joins from UBS Wealth Management, where she was an executive director responsible for ultra-high net worth individuals.

Prior to joining Indosuez, Yee was a director at Credit Suisse, where she managed a portfolio of north Asian clients.

Lin, who has also about 20 years’ experience, previously worked at LGT Bank (Singapore), where she was executive director.

Hui was previously a senior relationship manager at Bank of China, Hong Kong.

Close Brothers Asset Management

The UK firm has hired Sarah Keltie as senior investment business development director.

Keltie will take responsibility for the firm’s business development strategy with lawyers, accountants, trust companies and investment consultants.

She joins from Taylor Wessing, where she was senior international private wealth business development manager.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management

Boris Kwok has taken on the role of group head of north Asia, with a focus in China.

He joins from Standard Chartered, where he was managing director, market head, of the China team.

Lombard Odier

The Swiss wealth firm has named Guy Olivier Bambule as local managing director of its representative office in Dubai, under the supervision of the Central Bank of the UAE.

Bambule previously worked for HSBC in Switzerland.

Buzzacott

The accountancy firm has named Antoine Housden as head of financial services tax.

He joins Buzzacott from EY, where he worked as a director in the wealth and asset management tax practice.
