PEOPLE MOVES: DeVere Group, Zurich, Barclays Private Bank

Advice firm names CEO of its electronic money operation, as insurance giant makes c-suite change

DeVere Group

Dimitris Litsikakis has been named as chief executive of its electronic money brand DeVere E-Money.

He was global head of fintech at DeVere Group for two and a half years.

Litsikakis will take over with immediate effect from Nigel Green, the founder and chief executive of the DeVere Group. Green retains 100% of the shares and remains on the board of DeVere E-Money.

Zurich

The insurance giant has hired Frank Verkerk as group chief platform officer.

He joins Zurich on 16 August 2021, from ABN Amro, where he was chief digital officer.

Barclays Private Bank

It has appointed Evonne Tan as head of Barclays Private Bank Singapore.

Tan joins Barclays from UBS Singapore, where she was a market team head responsible for running the UHNW Singapore business.

Standard Chartered

The bank has appointed Anshu Sharma Raja as chief information officer of consumer, private and business banking.

She will be based in Singapore and replaces Paul Macpherson, who will be leaving to pursue opportunities outside the bank.

Raja joined the bank in September 2018 and in her current role as global head, retail banking products technology.

Fairway Group

The financial services firm has named Scott Nelson as a director for its trust business with responsibility for a mixed private client and corporate client base.

Prior to joining Fairway, he worked at Accuro Trust (Jersey) and most recently at Zedra Trust Company as an associate director focusing on corporate services.

Van Lanschot Kempen

The wealth manager has named Lars Dijkstra as chief sustainability officer.

Dijkstra has been Van Lanschot Kempen’s chief investment officer since 2005.

Erik van Houwelingen, member of the management board and chairman of Kempen Capital Management’s management board, will assume Dijkstra’s current duties.

FE Investments

The discretionary managed portfolio service provider has appointed Toyosi Lewis as retirement investment specialist.

He joins FE Investments from Timelineapp where he was responsible for providing technical support and training to IFAs and wealth managers on decumulation strategies.

Harneys

The offshore law firm has named Ross Munro as global managing partner, effective 1 January 2022.

Peter Tarn is stepping down after nine years as chairman and will continue practising as a partner in the BVI.

Munro joined the firm in 2005 in the BVI as a funds associate, became a partner in 2008 and was appointed global head of investment funds in 2012.

He took on the role of global head of fiduciary in 2013.

Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)

Director general Martin Moloney is leaving the Jersey regulator to take up the role of secretary general of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

He joined the JFSC in February 2019

Jill Britton, the JFSC’s director of supervision, will be interim director general on Moloney’s departure in September 2021.

The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA)

Emma Douglas will become its chair on 14 October 2021 at the PLSA’s annual general meeting.

She will initially serve as PLSA chair for three years; but this can be extended by up to a further three years.

The appointment will see Douglas succeed outgoing chair Richard Butcher, whose four-year tenure ends at the PLSA’s AGM.

Douglas has chaired the PLSA’s policy voard since 2018, was most recently head of DC at Legal & General Investment Management and will soon take on a new role as managing director of workplace savings at Aviva.
