DeVere Group
Richard Glenn has been hired as group chief financial officer, a newly-created role.
He joins from UAE-based wealth manager Credence International, where he was the firm’s chief financial officer for more than three years.
Credence was recently acquired by DeVere group chief executive, Nigel Green.
Glenn will report to Green and the board of directors.
Also, the firm has appointed Dimitris Litsikakis as global head of fintech.
Litsikakis has joined from UK fintech firm Revolut, where he was country manager of Greece.
He will be responsible for DeVere Vault, the firm’s global multi-currency e-money app, and he will report to Green and chief operating officer Beverley Yeomans.
HSBC
The global banking group has appointed Martin Tricaud as chief executive for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (Menat) region.
Tricaud, who will take up the position in June this year, succeeds Georges Elhedery, who was recently appointed to lead HSBC’s global markets division.
The new Menat head will also be deputy chairman of HSBC Bank Middle East.
He is relocating to Dubai from Sydney, where he has been chief executive of HSBC Australia since March 2017. Prior to that he was president and chief executive of HSBC Korea.
Elsewhere, the bank has also named Chan Eng Chien as head of ultra-high net worth solutions, south-east Asia.
He was most recently head of sales of south Asia at Credit Suisse in Singapore.
Deutsche Bank Wealth Management
The Germany-based bank has hired Mubashar Ayoob as head of its wealth management business in the Gulf region.
Ayoob has 23 years of industry experience, spending time at Merrill Lynch and UBS before joining Deutsche Bank in Dubai in October 2011.
In his new role, Ayoob will manage the team in the region and other locations while continuing to service some of the bank’s relationships in the Gulf.
He is taking over from Fred Hilal, who has left Deutsche Bank.
The head of wealth management in the Gulf will also join Deutsche Bank’s Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) executive committee and its United Arab Emirates (UAE) executive committee.
Ayoob will report to Loïc Voide, head of wealth management Middle East & Africa.
Westpac
The Australian financial services firm has appointed Ashley Stewart to the role of acting general manager of advice to lead the transformation of its advisory business.
Stewart has been with the Westpac Group since 2011 and has served as national head of BT Group licensees since June 2018, while also head of Westpac’s private wealth business in Victoria and South Australia.
His appointment follows Jane Watts’ move to general manager of Westpac’s retail and premium bank.
Lombard International
The cross-border wealth planning firm has named Nicolaas Vancrombrugge as senior wealth planner for Belgium.
Vancrombrugge will be based in Luxembourg, and has almost 20 years of experience as a wealth planner in private banking and the advisory space.
Jersey Financial Services Commission
Deputy director general John Everett is to leave the Jersey regulator at the end of September.
Everett joined the JFSC in May 2014 as director of funds and fiduciary supervision; and, at various times in his career at the organisation, has led the supervision and policy/financial crime policy teams, as well as being responsible for government relations.
He was promoted to the role of deputy director general in November 2015.
Prior to joining the JFSC, he worked at UK regulator the Financial Conduct Authority, where he specialised in investment management issues and international representation.
Charles Stanley
The UK investment manager has hired Tom De Burgh Williams as a financial planner and Luke Keattch as a paraplanner in its Bath office, with Gary Coe named as a financial planner in its Norwich office.
Williams and Keattch both joined the firm from WH Ireland, where the former was head of wealth planning for south-west of England.
Coe has joined the firm from Wealth at Work, where he worked for over six years – most recently as a senior wealth management adviser.
Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors
The Malta-based firm has named Colin Vella as head of wealth management.
He joined the business in 2013 as part of the investment advisory team.
Brewin Dolphin
The UK wealth manager has appointed Anthony Rawlinson as wealth director.
Rawlinson joined Brewin Dolphin having worked at Coutts & Co for seven years as a discretionary portfolio manager.
Robus
The insurance management, fiduciary and financial advisory group has appointed Dominic Sharp as senior actuary to lead the firm’s new actuarial division.
Sharp will be based in Gibraltar.
Most recently, he was a member of the intensive supervision team at the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
