Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

John Bissell will be retiring from his role as chief operating officer and CII board member in early April 2023 after more than six years with the organisation.

Over this period, he has also been director of CII Hong Kong, CII Middle East and CII Enterprises.

Plans are currently being developed to cover Bissell’s responsibilities both in the short- and longer-term.

Saltus

The wealth management firm has appointed Kathryn Kendall as chief people officer.

She was previously chief people officer at employee benefits and experience platform Benefex.

Ocorian

The financial services provider has appointed Matt Litten as head of private clients in Guernsey.

He joins from PraxisIFM, where he recently held the position of managing director.

First Sentier Investors

Charles Wong has been named as director of intermediary business at the investment firm.

Based in Singapore, Wong joins from Aviva Investors Asia, where he was head of wholesale in the region.

Praxis

Colin Vaudin has been named chief of staff at the financial services firm.

He joined the group in August 2022.

Joining Vaudin in the Guernsey office is newly appointed group head of marketing and communications Charlotte Barnes.

Prior to joining Praxis, she held the role of head of brand and marketing communications at offshore law firm Carey Olsen.

Sacker & Partners

The law firm has named Sophia Russell as associate.

Russell joins from Slaughter and May, where she qualified in 2021.

At Sackers, Sophia will be advising trustees and employers on a broad range of defined benefit and defined contribution issues, including benefit changes, mergers and scheme closures, and risk transfer projects.

Armstrong Watson

The financial services group has boosted its financial planning arm with the hire of Nick Birtle.

Birtle has joined the firm’s Penrith office as a financial planning consultant, having previously worked as an accountant with KPMG in Manchester, prior to becoming a financial adviser.

His appointment comes just months after fellow financial planning consultant Sarah Tallentire was welcomed into the business.

SG Kleinwort Hambros (SGKH)

The wealth manager has announced four senior board appointments.

Konstantin Graf von Schweinitz has been appointed as chairman of SG Kleinwort Hambros.

He is replacing Stuart Barnett, who has held the role of chairman since 2017 and has now retired.

Von Schweinitz has been a non-executive director for SG Hambros Bank since 2016 and has held a broad range of positions with several financial institutions and as an independent adviser to banks, hedge funds and private equity companies.

Following his appointment, the role of chair of the risk committee will transfer to Anne Ewing, an existing independent non-executive director.

Joanna Hall has joined SG Kleinwort Hambros as an independent non-executive director.

Hall was previously an independent non-executive director at Brewin Dolphin.

Demetrio Salorio, group country head of UK and Ireland, and chief executive of Societe Generale (SG) London branch, has joined the SGHK board as non-executive director.

Brooks Macdonald

The wealth manager has appointed James Rawlingson as non-executive director.

He currently serves as chairman of the audit and risk committee at Citibank UK.

In his executive career, Rawlingson held senior positions at Coutts, UBS Wealth and Charles Stanley.

Weller has been a non-executive director of Maps since September 2022.
