Insurer names distribution director for WM division, as bank bolsters wealth management arm in Hong Kong

Canada Life

The insurer has named Deb Bond as distribution director for its wealth management division.

Bond is currently head of sales at the firm.

Standard Chartered

Alson Ho has been named as head of wealth management, Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Ho was head of insurance for Citibank in Hong Kong.

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

The regulator has appointed Laura Dawes and Dominic Cashman as directors of authorisation.

Dawes is currently interim director of strategy, policy, international and intelligence in the FCA’s enforcement and market oversight division.

Cashman joins the regulator from TP ICAP, where he was most recently head of integration and transformation.

Also, Craig Chapman will join the FCA as finance director in May.

He is currently chief financial officer at RTX RouteTrader.

Seccl

The Octopus-owned custodian and platform technology provider has hired Farzana Khalil as head of customer.

Her most recent role was head of proposition development at Multrees.

JTC

The global financial services provider has strengthened its private client services team in Guernsey with the appointment of Sean Walsh as director.

Walsh joins from Saffery Champness Offshore, where he was associate director in Guernsey.

Third Financial

The tech firm has named Jeff Harvey-Wells as sales director.

He joins from Avaloq UK.

PineBridge Investments

The global asset manager has appointed Vladimir Zdorovenin as head of insurance solutions for Emea.

Before joining PineBridge, he worked at Apollo Global Management as part of its insurance solutions group international.

BNP Paribas Asset Management

The asset manager has further strengthened its ETF and index solutions specialist sales team with two appointments.

Benjamin Ertler and Martin Walentowitz joined on 1 April as senior sales manager and sales manager, respectively.

Ertler joins from MSCI, where he was a vice president of index coverage for German banks and asset managers for more than five years.

Walentowitz joins from BNP Paribas Wealth Management, where he was an investment manager for more than three years.
