PEOPLE MOVES: Canada Life, Banque Cramer, BRI Wealth

Chair steps down from insurer, while Swiss private bank names CEO

Canada Life

Andy Watson will succeed Derek Netherton as chairman of the insurance provider.

Netherton has held the role for a decade and will step down later this year.

Watson in currently a non-executive director at the company and has been named as incoming chairman, subject to regulatory approval.

Banque Cramer & Cie

The Swiss private bank has hired Erich Pfister as chief executive, effective from April 2022.

He will be responsible for refocusing the Swiss business as well as acquisitions to grow the company.

Most recently, Pfister held a similar role at Oddo BHF (Switzerland).

BRI Wealth Management

The UK-based wealth management firm has named Dan Boardman-Weston as chief executive, effective from 1 April 2022.

He will succeed Simon Broadman-Weston, who will take on the role of executive chairman.

Ocorian

The private client services provider has promoted Fiona Crellin to managing director of the Cayman Islands.

She was previously director of business implementation for the Americas, Bermuda and Caribbean.

Emirates NBD

The Dubai-headquartered banking group hired Graeme Fairlie as head of trust relationships.

He joins from Fairway Group, where he served as a business development manager in Jersey.

IQ-EQ

Tasnoova Zaki has been recruited to fill the newly created role of group head of compliance at the investor services provider.

She used to work for an unnamed multinational investment bank, where she was part of a regulatory transformation programme.

HSBC Asset Management

The asset management division of HSBC has expanded its alternative investment capability by hiring a listed infrastructure equity team from AMP Capital.

It will be led by Giuseppe Corona, head of listed infrastructure equity, and will be split between London and Sydney.

Atlantic House

The investment solutions provider has appointed Trevor Davies as head of compliance.

He was most recently the director and chief compliance officer of Wahed Invest.

Guiide

The Glasgow-based fintech firm has named Michael Power as non-executive chairman.

He is the former chief executive of Delta Financial Systems, and will be responsible for scaling Guiide’s product range.
