Promotions at CGWM and changes at the top for Julius Baer’s Italian business

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management

Double senior promotions for the Guernsey branch of the wealth manager.

Andy Finch has been made managing director CGWM (UK) Funds, tasked with expanding the firm’s Irish Ucits range. He joined the company in 2002 and has worked across several teams.

In addition, Chris Colclough has been promoted to head of wealth management in Guernsey. He first joined CGWM during his university holidays, and then returned to the firm in 2009 after working with an international fund manager in London.

Julius Baer

The Swiss private bank’s wealth and asset management boutique, Kairos, has hired Fabio Bariletti as chief executive.

His position will be effective from 16 April 2019 and he will be based in Milan. Bariletti has been with Kairos for almost 20 years and is currently the managing director and chief executive of the London branch.

He succeeds Paolo Basilico, one of the founders of Kairo, who has decided to step down but will remain an adviser to the company.

Investec Asset Management

James Elliot will lead Investec’s asset management team as head of multi-asset, effective from July 2019.

He will be responsible for overseeing existing investment solutions and creating investment strategies.

Elliot joins from JP Morgan, where he was for seven years developing the firm’s multi-asset solutions, as well as global strategy and overseeing the quantitative research teams.

AMP

The Australian wealth manager has named Debra Hazelton as non-executive director to its board. She will take on the role from 15 June 2019.

Hazelton is currently a non-executive director on the board of the Treasury Corporation of Victoria, Persol Australia Holdings and the Australia-Japan Foundation.

Additionally, once AMP Life’s sale to Resolution Life will be complete, Trevor Matthews will remain on the board of AMP Life, but retire from AMP’s board.

IOOF

The Australian financial advisory firm has hired David Flynn as head of advice governance, effective from 29 April 2019. He will be based in Sydney.

He was previously at Westpac as the programme director for structured advice remediation.

Estera

Melanie McEnery was named operations director for the Jersey-based global provider of corporate, funds and trusts services.

She joined the firm in 2006 as operations manager and was promoted to client director and made part of the company’s board in 2017.
