Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management turned its attention to south-east Asia with its latest appointment. Cigna Global Health Benefits Europe strengthened its senior management team, while NN Investment Partners added three to its new responsible investment team.

Canaccord Genuity

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has appointed David Scammell as business development director responsible for driving the firm’s growth in south-east Asia.

He joins from Brooks Macdonald International and brings with him more than 17 years’ experience in the wealth management industry.

Cigna

Cigna Global Health Benefits Europe, the global expatriate segment of Cigna, has promoted Raymond Linnartz to the role of European sales director for its global health benefits business and Frank Indestege to market development director, Europe.

In addition, Linnartz, Indestege and Liam Hughes, European client management director, join the senior management team. All three will report to recently appointing managing director John Kaye.

NN Investment Partners

NN IP has appointed Adrie Heinsbroek, Faryda Lindeman and Johan van der Lugt to the firm’s newly established responsible investment team.

Heinsbroek joins as head of the responsible investment team, charged with representing NN IP externally; advising the firm’s clients on responsible investment policies and needs, and upholding the strong momentum within NN IP regarding ESG integration. He brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the field of sustainability and ESG integration having previously worked for ING Bank Belgium where he was head of sustainability.

Lindeman takes on the role of senior corporate governance specialist and joins from Sustainalytics, an ESG and corporate governance research and ratings firm, where she managed the corporate governance research team.

Van der Lugt will coordinate NN IP’s ongoing commitment to continually enhance ESG integration within the firm’s investment process as senior ESG specialist. He joins NN IP from Robeco, where he was a senior equity analyst for global financials.

Julius Baer

Julius Baer International in London has made three appointments, strengthening its team with Loris Vallone joining as head of strategic solutions, Luke Downes as portfolio management team leader, and Ella Riesco as head of marketing and communications UK.

Vallone was most recently head of Italy domestic market for Julius Baer and has joined the team in London to focus on developing and enhancing Julius Baer International’s product and service offering.

Luke Downes joins from Sanlam Private Wealth, where he was head of global clients. Downes will lead a team of portfolio managers and be a key part of the continued expansion of the portfolio management service in London.

Riesco joins from Ruffer with an extensive track record in financial services, having spent six years as head of marketing and communications for Alliance Trust Investments. She will support the extension of the brand footprint outside London to HNWIs and UHNWIs across the UK.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners

BNP PIP has appointed Guillermo Felices as senior market strategist, a newly created role within its multi-asset solutions team. He will be based in London and report to Colin Graham, chief investment officer for multi-asset solutions and head of active asset allocation.

Felices has 15 years’ experience of sell-side research and policymaking. In his most recent role, he was Head of Asset Allocation Research for Europe at Barclays. Prior to this he was a senior global macro strategist at Citigroup.

Moneyfarm

Digital wealth manager Moneyfarm has named Scott Gallacher chief commercial officer, following the appointments of Paolo Nicci as chief financial officer and Richard Flax as chief investment officer in December.

Gallacher joins Moneyfarm with over 20 years’ experience having worked at Facebook, Sky and American Express. At Moneyfarm, he will be responsible for ensuring that the consumer remains at the heart of everything as the company enters its next phase of growth.

Edwin Coe

HM Revenue & Customs’ operational head of fraud investigation services, Dmitri Surendran, has joined law firm Edwin Coe as tax director. He joins Edwin Coe to advise clients who are subject to HMRC investigations in relation to direct taxes. He will also advise clients in relation to the negotiation of settlements with the UK tax authority.

J Safra Sarasin

Bank J Safra Sarasin has appointed Roberto Botta as branch manager of its Lugano office. He will be supported by two deputies, Pascal Paltenghi, who has been with the bank since 2006, and Fabio Bortoli, who joined recently.

Botta will develop the branch’s domestic, Italian and international activities and brings with him over 30 years in international wealth management.

Sycomore Asset Management

Alexandre Taïeb has joined Sycomore AM as a fund manager-analyst within the asset allocation team. Taïeb, who will report to Stanislas de Bailliencourt, has been tasked with implementing the firm’s investment policy across the discretionary mandate business.

Before joining Sycomore AM, Taïeb served as an analyst at Forward Finance, an investment consultancy firm dedicated to institutional investors, for six years, and previously worked at Lyxor Asset Management.

Lifetime Asset Management

The former deputy prime minister of New Zealand, Michael Cullen, has joined the board of Lifetime Asset Management, which developed and manages the Garrison Bridge Superannuation Scheme, a recognised overseas pension scheme (Rops) offered to Australian residents under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition agreement.
