PEOPLE MOVES: Brooks Macdonald, Barclays PB, Jupiter

Investments manager names director, while private bank makes senior hires in Europe

Brooks Macdonald 

Chris Bishun joined the investment management firm as an investment solutions director at the beginning of June. 

He was previously director of Emea portfolio analysis and solutions at Blackrock from October 2018. 

Bishun will be responsible for providing intermediaries with technical guidance and expertise. 

Barclays Private Bank 

The private banking arm of Barclays has made two senior hires. 

Olivier Franceschelli will become head of private banking in Monaco, while Alan Werlau has taken on the newly created role of head of investments for Barclays Private Bank Ireland. 

Franceschelli joins from CFM Indosuez where he was co-business head, whereas Werlau served as chief executive and chief investment officer at Nogard Capital. 

Jupiter 

Following shareholder approval of Jupiter’s acquisition of Merian Global Investor, two senior figures have joined from Merian. 

Warren Tonkinson will become managing director of distribution, a newly created role, and will oversee Jupiter’s network of international offices and staff. 

Marcus Bolitho has been named head of marketing, focusing on the marketing of the combined product range between Jupiter and Merian. 

Additionally, Andrea Boggio, Jupiter’s head of Italy, has been promoted to head of continental Europe. 

Fist State Investments 

First State Investment has created a London-based global head of distribution role, to be filled by Harry Moore. 

He has been with the firm for the past decade, and most recently was head of distribution for Australia, New Zealand and Japan. 

MLC Life Insurance 

Australian insurance company MLC Life has hired Rodney Cook as chief executive. 

He previously held a similar role at UK financial services firm Just Group. 

Cook was also a managing director of AMP New Zealand and held senior positions at Prudential UK and Zurich Financial Services.  

Tilney 

The UK wealth management group has continued its hiring spree despite the adverse conditions posed by the covid-19 crisis. 

The latest addition is Mark Stone who joins the Bristol team as a financial planner from Whitechurch Securities, where he spent 19 years, and was most recently financial planning director.  

Arton Capital 

International financial advisory firm Arton Capital has expanded its presence in Hong Kong with three hires. 

Karen Yip, Bisher Alabed and Nosipho Chloe Ndzeku all join as relationship managers. 

Yip was previously an executive director ay New Page Immigration Consultant; Alabed has an extensive background in global investments and the Middle East market through his experience in Lebanon and the UAE; while Ndzeku has a nearly a decade of expertise in Fortune 500 companies and investment firms.  

Redington 

Independent investment consultancy Redington has appointed Kathryn Purves as non-executive board chair. 

She currently holds non-executive roles at James Hay Partnership and Saunderson House. 

Most recently, she was chief executive of IFG Group. 

Hawksmoor Investment Management 

The current chairman of the investment management firm, James Brent, will step down at the end of June. 

Anthony Deacon, current non-executive director, will act as interim chairman until a replacement is found. 

Finantix 

The technology provider to the wealth management, insurance and banking sectors has promoted Christine Ciriani to chief executive. 

She will retain the role of chief commercial officer, which she took on in October 2019. 

Additionally, co-founder and former chief executive Ralf Emmerich will become executive chairman.
