French bank names India CEO for wealth arm as Swiss firm shakes-up international operation

BNP Paribas Wealth Management

The French banking group has appointed Ravinder Singh as chief executive and managing director of BNP Paribas Wealth Management India, according to local reports.

Singh has also been named head of wealth management in India.

He will be responsible for overseeing the growth of the division with the aim of expanding its operations in the country.

He will report to head of Indian and international markets Samir Bimal, as well as BNP Paribas India territory head Franciska Decuypere.

Singh joined the firm in 2013 and was appointed the head of its India sales division in 2016.

Julius Baer International

The Swiss firm has named Jamie Banks as head of wealth planning.

Banks will replace Alan Hooks, who has been named head of London for Julius Baer International.

He has been part of the firm’s wealth planning team for the past four years. Prior to this, Banks spent seven years in Deutsche Bank’s wealth planning division.

Hooks will take on leadership of Julius Baer International’s London-based relationship management teams and will work with Calum Brewster, head of UK regions.

He was previously at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Brewin Dolphin

The UK wealth manager has hired Amy Pethers and Emma Lundy as wealth adviser and wealth executive, respectively.

They will both be based in London.

Pethers worked previously at Kleinwort Hambros and Butterfield Private Bank, while Lundy joins from St James’s Place.

Also, Menna Cule has been promoted to head of office for the wealth manager’s Birmingham and Oxford branches.

Cule joined Brewin Dolphin in 2016 and will manage a joint team of over 50 people across both operations.

Adam Wilkins, the current head of office, who has 30 years’ experience, is stepping down from the role.

He will now focus on managing investments for his clients and continues as a divisional director of investment management.

Creechurch Capital

Isle of Man-based boutique discretionary fund management firm Creechurch Capital has appointed Jim Dolan as managing director.

A chartered FSCI and chartered wealth manager, Dolan joined Creechurch in March as director and investment manager following the firm’s acquisition by the Nayyer Group.

Efpa Spain

Santiago Satrústegui has been named president of the trade association.

He replaces Carlos Tusquets, who has helmed the organisation for the past 16 years.

Satrústegui, who was previously vice-president of the association, will be responsible for the strategy of Efpa Spain.

He is president of Spanish financial planner Abante Asesores.

Sanne

David Fowler has been named country head of Singapore at the private client service provider.

He will take over the role from Valérie Mantot, who will be focusing on the role of head of business development in Asia Pacific and Mauritius.

Fowler joins Sanne from PwC Singapore where he was a director of its venture hub.

Peregrine & Black Investment Management (PBIM)

The UK-based firm has appointed Graham Withers to its team of investment managers.

He will work with both private clients and financial advisers.

Withers also manages US clients and was previously at Rathbones, where he spent 25 years.

Although initially based in London, it is planned that Withers will set up the company’s first office in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE)

Philip Grant has become the chairman of the representative body of the Scottish financial services sector.

He will take over the role of chairman from Jim Pettigrew, who is stepping down after serving his full three-year term.

Grant’s role will be in addition to his position as chairman of Lloyds Banking Group’s (LBG) Scottish executive committee with responsibility for the group in Scotland.

He is also managing director of customer and business risk of the insurance and wealth division of LBG, which includes Scottish Widows.
