PEOPLE MOVES: Benchmark Capital, Indosuez WM, Quilter

Schroders subsidiary hires wealth director, while global firm names head of Middle East

Benchmark Capital

The Schroders subsidiary has named Ed Dymott as managing director for wealth.

In the newly created role, he will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and advice proposition across the group and will lead the firm’s ‘best practice’ network.

Dymott was previously at Aegon, where he served as managing director for transformation, innovation and growth.

Indosuez Wealth Management

Fouad Nicolas Trad will become global head of Middle East at the wealth manager.

He will be based in Dubai and lead the coordination of all wealth management activities in the region.

Trad joins from Byblos Bank in Brussels, where he served as chief executive and managing director for over 12 years.

Quilter Financial Planning

Head of adviser recruitment and acquisition Scott Stevens is leaving Quilter Financial Planning to pursue other opportunities.

Managing director Gemma Harle will take on the responsibilities.

Additionally, Julian Hince has been promoted to head of the the Quilter Financial Adviser School from his previous head of training position.

Sovereign Middle East

The Middle East arm of the trust services provider has made several changes to its senior management team.

Group sales director Nicholas Cully has stepped down as managing director of Sovereign’s Dubai office after five years.

He will be relocating to Switzerland in March 2021 to concentrate on the central European business and managing the group’s global sales in Europe, Africa, Middle East and south east Asia.

Simon Gordon, currently a director in Dubai and Bahrain, will succeed Cully as managing director of the Dubai office.

Paul Arnold has taken on the role of managing director of Sovereign’s newly opened Saudi Arabian office in Riyadh, after being at the firm for three years as head of new market development in Dubai.

Brooks Macdonald

Senior investment manager Ewan Millar has been promoted to head of alternative investment markets, effective from 1 March 2021.

He will replace Scott Lothian, who will leave the business in May 2021.

Millar was previously at Cornelian before the company was acquired by Brooks Macdonald in February 2020.

Capital Group

The investment firm has hired Rob Hardy as corporate governance director, based in London.

He was most recently head of investment stewardship for Emea at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Phoenix Group

Sangita Chawla has taken on the role of marketing director for the firm’s savings and retirement business.

She will be responsible for managing the newly acquired Standard Life brand and Phoenix’s open savings and retirement businesses.

Chawla joins from Aegon, where she served as head of investment solutions strategy.

JTC Group

The private client firm has promoted Paul Weir to managing director of the firm’s Jersey office, and Julia Zingiloglu to managing director of private client services in Switzerland.

Weir was previously head of private clients for the Channel Islands, while Zingiloglu served as senior director and head of Geneva.

The appointments are part of around 100 promotions within the entire group.

Sandringham Financial Partners

The advice firm recruited Kevin Quinn as an advising partner.

He was previously a financial adviser at Ashwood Law Wealth Management for over four years.
