The bank has appointed Gérald Mathieu as head of private bank Europe, Monaco and Switzerland.
Mathieu joined Barclays in 2010, and previously led the Barclays Private Bank team in Monaco before becoming chief executive of Barclays Bank (Suisse).
St James’s Place Wealth Management Asia
The wealth firm has added Daniel Brunner and Thomas Forster to the SJP Partnership.
The SJP Partnership is a collective of advisory businesses and financial advisers that operate independently under the SJP Wealth brand, servicing as a dedicated distribution network to deliver the firm’s offerings.
Brunner and Forster, who are both based in Singapore, will be working independently.
Before SJP, Forster was a senior relationship manager at Schroders Wealth Management from April 2018 to October 2019, according to his Linkedin profile.
Brunner joined from the Singapore office of wealth manager Marcuard Heritage, where he was a senior management consultant, according to his Linkedin profile.
MetLife Gulf
Aman Pal Singh, the former head of IFA (broker retail) business at MetLife Gulf, has left the firm to set up his own company, according to his Linkedin account.
He has set up Benefits4Expats, which aims at delivering consultation services to insurance companies, intermediaries, and clients through personalised advice and assistance across the insurance industry.
Personal Finance Society
The professional body has elected Sarah Lord as president for 2020 to 2021.
Lord is chief client officer for Succession Wealth and is responsible for the client and brand strategy.
She replaces outgoing president Adam Owen.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
The UK regulator has announced interim chief executive Christopher Woolard will be will be stepping down from the FCA Board and any executive or decision-making roles from 1 October 2020.
He will be moving on from the FCA after his work as the chair of review of the future regulation of the unsecured credit market is finished.
Woolard will not take up any external appointment until at least six months after the end of his executive role.

The investment firm has appointed Adrian Grace as chairman of its board, replacing Ian Owen, who steps down from the role after approaching five years.
Grace was most recently non-executive director and remuneration committee chair at Virgin Money and, up until his retirement in March this year, was chief executive of Aegon UK for almost 10 years.
Pimco
The fixed income investment manager has appointed Mark Carney to its global advisory board.
Carney was the former governor of both the Bank of England and the Bank of Canada.
HSBC Global Asset Management
The asset manager has named Rachida Mourahib as head of fixed income ESG and geen research within the global credit research team, effective immediately.
Rachida joined HSBC in 2006 as an ESG analyst.
