Insurer makes c-suite change, as financial services company bolster Swiss wealth arm

Axa

The insurance giant has named Andrew Wallace-Barnett as group chief compliance officer.

Wallace-Barnett is currently head of investor relations

He will succeed Ian Johnson, who has decided to retire after 30-year career at the group.

Wallace-Barnett will be replaced by Anu Venkataraman, who joins from AllianceBernstein, where she is currently portfolio manager as well as senior research analyst covering financial stocks in the US and international markets.

Rothschild & Co

The company’s Swiss wealth management arm has appointed Andreas Feller as head of Swiss onshore, Zurich and deputy head of private banking Zurich.

He will take on the role as of 1 April 2022 and was most recently head of German-speaking Switzerland at Bank Julius Baer in Zurich.

AllianceBernstein

The global investment firm has named Noel Archard as global head of ETFs and portfolio solutions.

Archard joins AB from State Street Global Advisors, where he most recently served as the global head of product.

VG

The trust, corporate and fund administration solutions provider has appointed Jonathan Manning as a manager in its funds division.

He was previously at Stonehage Fleming, Deutsche Bank, State Street and Royal Bank of Canada.

Alongside Manning’s appointment, VG has also welcomed several more across the business to begin 2022.

In the funds team, Kimberly Brockbank and Chaz Miller have joined as senior fund administrators alongside Jeffrey Da Silva as a fund administrator.

In VG’s private client division, there have been four joiners: Petra Felgueiras as trust administrator, Laura Pachucy as bookkeeper, Jess Crocker as trust officer, Artur Szajkowski as client reporting accountant and Aggie Kurszewska as assistant manager.

Redwheel

The investment manager has promoted Benjamin Hall to co-portfolio manager of the Global Horizon Equity team and named Gillian Elcock as investment director.

Benjamin will work closely with portfolio manager Louise Keeling on portfolio construction and identifying new investment opportunities.

He joined Redwheel’s Global Horizon team in 2019 as a global analyst.

Elcock has almost two decades of experience in the investment industry having graduated from MIT and the Harvard Business School before embarking on a career as an equity analyst.

Aubrey Capital Management

The Edinburgh-based privately owned investment management firm has appointed Ramsay Wilson as investment manager to bolster its private client team.

Wilson will take over from John James, who retired at the end of November.

Before his move to Aubrey, Wilson worked for UBS, where he looked after a wide range of private client portfolios, covering Scotland and the UK regions.

Featherstone Partners

The boutique wealth management firm has named Sophie Burke-Murphy as investment director.

She joins Featherstone from Ruffer, where she spent 10 years and held the position of investment director responsible for managing investment portfolios for private clients and charities.

Amati Global Investors

Mikhail Zverev has joined the fund manager to develop global equities strategy.

Zverev was most recently head of global equities with Aviva Investors.

Redington

The investment consultancy firm has appointed Adam Jones to its board as an executive director.

He is currently chief technology officer (CTO) at Redington and managing director of the firm’s software business, Ada Fintech, having led the firm’s technology strategy since 2017.

Quantum Advisory

The independent financial services consultancy firm has bolstered its London-based team.

Kara Newcombe has been appointed as a senior investment consultant and joins from Broadstone.

Ben Amenya has joined as an investment consultant from XPS.
