PEOPLE MOVES: Axa, Ocorian, IQ-EQ

Insurer reshuffles European c-suite; while fund services provider names COO

Axa

Alexander Vollert has been promoted to group chief operating officer, effective from 1 December 2021.

He is currently chief executive of Axa Germany, a role he has had since 2016.

Thilo Schumacher, current head of life, savings and health at Axa Germany, will replace Vollert, effective from the same day – pending regulatory approval.

Ocorian

The fund administration and fiduciary services provider named Carole Murphy as chief operating officer.

She joins from Capgemini where she served as head of business transformation services and head of the finance and accounting practice.

IQ-EQ

Investor services group IQ-EQ recruited Rashmi Rao as group chief information officer.

She previously held a number of senior positions at Bupa and McKinsey and Andersen.

Crestrbridge

Mike Edward has become chief people officer at the global administration services business.

He originally joined the firm on a consultancy basis to manage a series of HR projects.

Edward takes over from Fiona St Clair-Bolam who will retire after almost 30 years in human resources, eight of which she spent at Crestbridge.

Kleinwort Hambros

The private bank has made three senior hires across the UK.

Unni Chowallur has become director of private banking in the key client and international segment of the business in London. Most recently, he was executive director at Standard Chartered Private Bank.

Mark Sheerin has taken on the role of senior private banker in Yorkshire. He worked for HSBC Private Bank for the last four years, advising onshore domestic clients on their discretionary and advisory portfolios.

Laythamm Malorey joined as business development manager in the Channel Islands. He will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with introducers and intermediaries. Malorey brings 35 years’ experience in the sector working for RBS, Barclays and, more recently, boutique investment houses.

HSBC Asset Management

Christine Chow has become head of stewardship and engagement at HSBC’s asset management business.

She will lead the division’s responsible investing work as well as grow research insights on the topic.

Before joining, Chow was a member of the court and investment committee of the London School of Economics and was appointed as an honorary adviser to the Financial Reporting Council in Hong Kong in April 2021.
