PEOPLE MOVES: Amundi, Singlife, Schroders PW

French asset manager names Belgium CEO, while insurer hires deputy CIO

|

Amundi

Oliver Brouwers has been hired as chief executive officer of Amundi in Belgium.

He joins from La Francaise Asset Management, where he worked as head of business development for Benelux and Nordics since October 2021.

Singlife with Aviva

The Singapore-based insurer has recruited Allen Kuo as group deputy chief investment officer.

He will be tasked with overseeing the company’s sustainable investment strategy.

Kuo joins from the University of California’s Regents Chief Investment Office, where he was a director and deputy chief risk officer.

Schroders Personal Wealth

The Schroders-Lloyds advice joint venture has named Dominic Sheridan as chief executive of the authorised corporate director (ACD) business, subject to regulatory approval.

He will be responsible for leading and developing the division which was launched in December 2019.

Sheridan was previously at Omnis Investments, where he held a similar position.

BNY Mellon IM

The investment management arm of BNY Mellon has hired Sharon Ko as head of intermediary business for Hong Kong retail distribution.

Most recently, she was head of retail distribution for Hong Kong at Invesco.

Prudential

Prudential’s group chief financial officer James Turner will step down from the board, effective from 1 January 2023.

The firm explained this is because it’s common practice in Asia for listed companies to not have chief financial officers as board members or non-executive directors.

Turner, however, will remain in his position and a member of the group executive committee.

Prudential has also had a board reshuffle with Philip Remnant stepping down as senior independent director after two years and Tom Watjen also leaving his non-executive directorship after five years.

Jeremy Anderson will succeed Remnant, while the appointment of Claudia Suessmuth-Dyckerhoff as a non-executive director in August 2022 has received regulatory approval.

Blackrock

Guilherme Lima, head of wealth for Asia Pacific at the firm, is taking an extended leave of absence for personal and family reasons, a spokesperson for the company told our sister publication Fund Selector Asia.

His responsibilities will pass on to James Raby, chief financial officer for Apac.

JTC

The Jersey-headquartered firm has expanded its private client services team with a double hire.

Chris Fry and Paul Fauvel both join as directors. Fry was previously head of family office for over 21 years at Link Asset Services; while Fauvel served as client services director at Froward Group for less than a year.
