PEOPLE MOVES: Allianz GI, 7IM, Close Brothers

C-suite shake-ups at German firm, investment manager and asset management company

Allianz Global Investors

Andreas Utermann is stepping down from his roles as chief executive and global head of investments at the end of 2019.

Tobias Pross, the current global head of distribution will take on the top job. He has been with Allianz GI for over 20 years and is based in the firm’s Munich office.

Deborah Zurkow has been promoted to global head of investments, effective from January 2020. She joined Allianz GI in 2012 to set up the firm infrastructure debt offering and oversee the growth of the alternatives platform.

Seven Investment Management

Duncan Walker has replaced Charles Sparrow as 7IM’s chief financial officer.

Sparrow had been in the c-suite role for 18 years.

Walker joins from Qatar’s QInvest, where he worked as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Prior to this, he held similar positions at Credit Suisse.

Close Brothers Asset Management

After ten years at Close Brothers AM, chief investment officer Nancy Curtin is going to step down from the position.

Following her departure, the firm will create three leadership roles which will report directly to chief executive Martin Andrew.

The replacements have not been revealed so far.

Invesco

The investment management firm has named Jaijit Kumar as head of Asia insurance solutions, based in Hong Kong.

Kumar joins from Aviva Asia where he worked as chief investment officer for over three years.

Carmignac

The French asset manager has expanded its London equities team.

Chrystelle Eid joins as an equity specialist focusing on the consumer sector.

She joined the firm in September 2019 from Charterhouse Capital Partners where she was an investment manager.

HSBC Global Asset Management

Shamil Pankhania has been appointed as a credit portfolio manager within the firm’s global bonds team.

He will be based in London, leading and managing the Buy and Maintain Credit Investment business as well as supporting the portfolio management of global and UK fixed income funds.

Pankhania was previously at Blackrock where he served as a global credit portfolio manager for the Fundamental fixed Income team.

Sanford DeLand

Eric Burns has been hired as chief analyst at the asset management firm, effective from 1 January 2020.

He joins from WH Ireland where he was deputy head of institutional research for over 10 years.

Lyxor

The Societe Generale asset management subsidiary has recruited Vincent Denoiseux as head of ETF research and solutions.

In the newly created role, he will be based in London and responsible for strengthening Lyxor’s position on key market segments and developing its partnerships with investors.

Denoiseux joins from DWS where he worked as head of portfolio solutions for over seven years.
