Singapore CEO named at insurer, as investment manager hires UK retail sales director

AIA Singapore 

Sze Keed Wong has been promoted to chief executive, effective from 1 July 2020. 

She will succeed Patrick Teow, who will take a career break after seven years at the insurer. 

Wong joined AIA in 2013 where she held several senior positions and is currently the firm’s chief distribution officer. 

Alliance Bernstein 

The investment management firm has hired Omar Rauf as UK retail sales director to expand Alliance Berstein’s relationship with the UK market. 

He joins from Robeco Investment Management where he served as a sales manager for global financial institutions across Ireland and the UK for over four years. 

Carrick Wealth 

South Africa’s Carrick Wealth has promoted Anthony Plamer to group commercial director, effective immediately. 

He has worked at the wealth firm since it was set up in 2014, and his most recent position was head of products and investments. 

Palmer will keep his role as chair of the firm’s investment committee, and will also join the two main boards, namely Carrick Financial Services and Carrick International. 

Blackfinch 

Jason Williams has been recruited as distribution director at the wealth firm to boost its managed portfolio service offering. 

He was previously a business development manager at Brewin Dolphin for over eight years. 

Tenet 

Julie Darlington will succeed Caroline Bradley as Tenet’s group risk and regulatory director. 

She will take on the role in July 2020, subject to regulatory approval. 

Darlington will join from Quilter Financial Planning where she works as business controls director. 

JM Finn 

The wealth management firm has expanded its investment team with two hires. 

Clare Gore Langton will become investment director and Stephen Thornton as senior investment manager. 

They were both previously at Rathbones where they held similar positions. 

Thornton started work in April 2020 while Gore Langton will take on her role in July 2020, subject to regulatory and contractual approval.
