Aegon UK

Chief financial officer Clare Bousfield is to leave the company after six years.

She will be replaced by Stephen McGee, currently finance director, who will take on the role on an interim basis from 1 August.

UK government

UK pensions minister Ros Altmann has resigned from her post after 15 months following the appointment of Theresa May as prime minister. In her resignation letter, Altmann said that she was not convinced the government had done enough to address the pensions gap for older women.

She has been replaced at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by Richard Harrington.

Australia government

Australia’s assistant treasurer Kelly O’Dwyer has lost part of her remit following the country’s protracted national election campaign that saw the conservative Liberal government under Malcolm Turnbull narrowly return to power.

O’Dwyer’s role has been renamed minister for revenue and financial services with her remit as small business minister handed to Michael McCormack, who represents the New South Wales electorate of Riverina for their coalition partners, the Nationals.

Thirdrock

Singapore-based asset and wealth management firm, Thirdrock, has brought in Blackrock’s Suanjin Tan as senior portfolio manager. The firm also appointed Yi-Lin Lee as senior fixed income strategist and portfolio manager.

Tan and Lee will co-manage the firm’s discretionary fixed income strategy. Both of their roles are newly created.

Prior to Blackrock, Tan was investment director and head of Southeast Asia at Citi Venture Capital International, the emerging markets private equity arm of Citigroup and a senior member of its China investment team.

Lee previously worked for the fixed income trading businesses of Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and Haitong International.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth

Legal and wealth advisory business Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth has strengthening its trusts and tax planning team with the recruitment of associate legal executive Olga Powell.

Fluent in Russian, she advises clients on the tax aspects of UK private trusts, charitable trusts, wills and estate planning. She was previously a legal adviser at Blake Morgan and also worked at law firm Thomas Eggar before it merged with Irwin Mitchell in 2015.
