Pension firm Netherlands CEO departs, while family office hires head of estate planning

Aegon

Maarten Edixhoven will step down as chief executive of the Netherlands at the pension firm, effective from 11 May 2021.

He spent the last seven years at the pension provider, of which nearly five at the helm of Aegon’s Dutch operations.

Edixhoven decided to pursue other opportunities outside the organisation.

The process to find a successor is already underway, the firm said.

Stonehage Fleming

The family office has hired Hélie de Cornois as director and head of estate planning.

In the newly created role, he will advise ultra-high net worth private clients and investors on a range of domestic and international tax and estate planning issues.

De Cornois was previously head of estate planning and international patrimonial services at Banque Degroof Petercam in Luxembourg.

Willis Owen

Head of personal investing Adrian Lowcock has left the platform following a restructuring process.

He spent the last three years at Willis Owen.

Bank Syz

The private banking arm of Syz Group has named Antoine Denis as head of advisory.

He joins from Geneva-based private bank Bordier & Cie, where he held a similar position since 2015.

Ashburton Investments (International)

Sebastian Volpe has been promoted to chief operating officer at the investment firm.

He has been at the company for over six years and was most recently operational change manager.

Mattioli Woods

The wealth manager has hired Nigel Reynolds in a newly created role to help evolve its proposition and drive growth.

He joins from Platform Securities, where he worked for 14 years, including the last five as chief executive.

Capital Group

The investment firm has recruited Tri Huynh as managing director for financial intermediaries.

He will be responsible for strengthening client relationships as well as developing alliances with intermediaries in the UK.

Huynh joins from Artemis Investment Management, where he was head of strategic partnerships.

Moneyfarm

Dan Giddings will become head of business development for the UK at the digital wealth manager, effective from June 2021.

He joins from competitor Wealthify, where he spent the last 18 months in a similar role.

VG

The Jersey based trust provider has made several promotions and hires.

Aaron Smith will take on the role of senior trust officer after joining the company in 2018, while trainee trust administrator Tommy Ling will become trust administrator after one year at the firm.

Additionally, Matt Philipott was named trust administrator; Zach Ellam and Lewis Mold both join as trainee fund administrators; Gareth Ashby will take on the role of business intelligence solutions developer; and Jessica Giraffa joins as compliance administrator.

Aubrey Capital Management

The Edinburgh-based investment firm has appointed David Nelson as an investment manager within its private client team.

He joins from Cornelian Asset Managers, where he held a similar position.
