Aegon UK
After 10 years with the firm, Aegon UK’s chief executive Adrian Grace will retire at the end of September 2019.
Mike Holliday-Williams will succeed him with effect from 1 October 2019.
He will also be made part of the management board, but both roles are subject to regulatory approval.
Holliday-Williams joins from insurer Direct Line where he was a managing director since 2014.
HSBC Global Asset Management
Joanna Munro has been promoted to chief investment officer for HSBC GAM.
She takes over from Chris Cheetham, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the bank.
Munro will be based in London and take on the position at the end of September 2019.
She has been with the bank since 2005 and will leave her position as global head of stewardship and fiduciary governance as well as chairperson for HSBC Gam UK, to take on the c-suite job.
Columbia Threadneedle
The global asset management group has named Edwin Lawrence head of Middle East, effective from 8 September 2019.
He joined from Franklin Templeton where he spent the last 13 years as institutional sales director for the Middle East, based in Dubai.
Kingswood
The UK based wealth manager has appointed Leigh Philpot as head of client proposition.
He will help the firm to grow its business proposition for clients and intermediaries, and generate sales opportunities.
Philpot joins from Kleinwort Hambros Private Bank, where he was head of regions.
Prior to this, he founded and led the discretionary fund management (DFM) business strategy for the bank. providing DFM and private banking solutions to IFAs.
Capital Group
Matteo Astolfi has been hired as the investment management firm’s managing director for financial intermediaries in Italy.
He will be based in Milan and will be responsible for Capital Group’s expansion in the Mediterranean country.
Astolfi was previously at M&G where he served as head of Italy and Greece.
The Fry Group
Peter Triggs has been hired as a consultant at the global financial advisory group.
He will focus on advocacy, mentoring and business development to enhance The Fry Group’s capabilities in Asia.
Triggs was a managing director and head of regional wealth planning at DBS Private Bank in Singapore before starting his own business Triggs Wealth Advisory.
Investec Wealth & Investment
The wealth management and investment arm of the Investec Group has named Hannah Dampney as senior investment manager in its Bournemouth office.
She will provide investment management services to private clients, charities, trusts and intermediaries.
Befofe joining Investec, Dampney was an investment manager at Brewin Dolphin’s Lymington office.
Ocorian Investment Management
The investment manager has made three hires in its Luxembourg business.
Susanna Carvalho joins as an associate director and head of funds operations from a local alternative investment manager.
Emmanuelle Poret has been named head of client onboarding. She was previously head of client relationship at Arendt and Medernach and Arendt Services in Luxembourg.
Lastly, Rachel Aguirre had been hired as head of Luxembourg operations. She joins from California where she was a relationship manager for State Street.
Tobam
Philippe Bigeard has been appointed head of business development for France to drive the asset manager’s expanding client base in the country.
He takes on the newly created role from bank Caceis, where he served as group head of product marketing.
Liontrust
Carol Hyner has joined Liontrust’s multi-asset sales team effective from 9 September 2019.
She will be responsible for selling the firm’s risk managed portfolio service to advisers in East Anglia and Northern Home counties.
She was previously at Brooks Macdonald where she worked as a new business development manager.
Capco
Global technology and management consultancy Capco has hired Derek Pennor to lead its wealth, asset management and insurance business in Scotland.
He will be based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, leaving his previous role as a director at EY, where he led the Scottish wealth and asset management strategy.
