UAE advice firm names partner, while investment manager hires head of Israel

Abacus Financial Consultants

Senior consultant David MacLaren has been promoted to partner.

He has been at the UAE-based advisory firm since 2015.

Neuberger Berman

The investment manager has opened an office in Tel Aviv and hired Daria Uchenik as head of Israel client group, effective immediately.

She joins from ISP Group, where she served as head of institutional sales.

Pimfa

The financial advice trade association appointed Ciaran Whelan and Mike Morrow to its board.

Whelan is managing director at Investec and chief executive at Investec Wealth and Investment UK.

Morrow is chief commercial officer at Openwork.

Rathbones

The investment management firm has hired Saif Sajid and Joe Young as analysts within the collectives’ team.

Sajid was previously at Statpro Group, where he worked as a financial client service analyst.

Young was transferred from Rathbones’ client development team, where he served as an investment analyst for two years.

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners

The international investment business has made two senior promotions.

John O’Neill will become head of Europe and part of the investment committee, while David Cowan will be promoted to senior managing director.

Both will be based in the firm’s London office.

Additionally, LLCP has expanded its European investment team with the additions of Aqil Sohail as associate director and Zue Leong as senior associate.

Sohail joins from private equity firm CBPE, where he was an investment manager, while Leong was previously at Denham Capital serving as a vice president.

Reed Smith

The global law firm recruited Jason Richardson as a partner within its financial industry group in the London office.

He joins from Sidley Austin, where he held a similar position.
