7IM

The wealth manager has hired Sam Christopher, former Fidelity International head of proposition, for its new head of platform role.

The company has expanded its platform business since the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board bought a majority stake in the company in January.

Christopher will join 7IM in September under managing director for platform and intermediary partnerships, Russell Lancaster. Before her three years at Fidelity International, Christopher was head of retail solutions at M&G Prudential and worked for Cofunds, an investment platform sold from L&G to Aegon in 2016.

Cannacord Genuity Wealth Management

The firm has appointed Roger Sedgwick as an investment director for its Birmingham hub. He joins from RBC Brewin Dolphin, where he held a range of wealth management roles since arriving at the firm in 1998.

Sedgwick specialises in discretionary investment management for private clients, pensions, trusts and charities.

Duncan Stratford, managing director of Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, said: “We are delighted to welcome Roger to Canaccord. As always, our focus continues to be to deliver excellent wealth management services to our clients at each of our 13 offices over the UK.”

Allianz GI

The asset manager has appointed Michael Krautzberger as its global CIO for fixed income, succeeding the departing Franck Dixmier.

Dixmier exits the firm after nearly 30 years, having joined in 1996 before being appointed as the firm’s first global head of fixed income in 2015.

Krautzberger will take up the role in August, joining from BlackRock where he worked for 19 years, most recently as head of EMEA fundamental fixed income since 2018.

Liontrust

The firm has expanded its UK distribution team with the hire of Gary Higgs and Kyle Barwell, who join from Royal London and Janus Henderson.

Higgs joined Royal London as business development manager in March 2020, having spent eight years prior at M&G Investments working in both business development and strategic partnerships.

He keeps the title of business development manager at Liontrust, where he will be responsible for wealth managers, discretionary fund managers, multi-managers, private banks and family offices.

Time Investments

The firm has hired Billy Brown as head of internal sales. He has joined from Triple Point, where he was responsible for the strategic accounts and the distribution strategy, and delivering a pipeline of new business opportunities.

Brown has nearly two decades of experience of working across the financial services market, and has been involved in the mortgage, retirement, later life and, most recently, the tax efficient and alternative investment space.

He will work with the business development team to raise awareness and drive further growth of Time’s tax efficient products and range of real asset funds among the adviser community.
