UK-based advice firm Advanta Wealth has set up shop in Dundee and named Susan Bennett as regional director.

The client team in Dundee will be supported by over 30 team members in the Glasgow office as well as from the team in London.

Mark Pearson, chief commercial officer at Advanta, said: “Dundee is a city with a rich history and where we see the council has a desire to regenerate the centre; we see ourselves becoming part of that journey.  As one of the official partners of the PFA Scotland we already have a working relationship with the city’s football teams and look forward to a greater working relationship with the people and employers of Dundee.”

Bennett added: “With the challenges that today’s economic climate presents, Advanta believes that an advice firm should be able to deliver high quality solutions across all aspects of personal finance ranging from mortgages, through to savings, tax planning, investments and general insurance risks.”

The office opening comes shortly after Advanta Solutions – the holding company for Advanta Wealth, Advanta Invest and Advanta Risk – made four acquisitions in October 2022, three of which were in Scotland. The company received private equity backing in January 2021 to fund its M&A spree.

The acquired firms are SMG Financial Options, Ann Bellingham Financial Services and M&I Independent Financial Services in Scotland, and Genesis Financial Planning in London.
