John Peta assumed the role on 2 March, reporting to head of fixed income Christine Johnson, and will take over management of the fund from Stone Harbor Investment Partners on 20 April.

OMGI said there may also be a change to the running of the OM Emerging Market Debt Fund following a review of the current sub-adviser, also Stone Harbor.

Johnson said: “We are actively expanding our range of capabilities, including bringing many of the outsourced funds in house. The percentage of assets held in sub-advised funds has dropped significantly since OMGI’s inception in 2012.

“We have identified emerging market debt as an area that we believe can add real value to a client’s portfolio and we feel that John’s experience means he is the ideal person to manage the fund going forward.”

Peta joined from Threadneedle Asset Management, having held a head of EM debt and fund manager berth since 2012. Prior to that he spent time in EM debt-related roles with Standish Mellon Asset Management and Acadian Asset Management.
