Based in Frankfurt and reporting to head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America Dik van Lomwel, he will be responsible for client relationships in both countries, with a focus on institutional investors.

Puschmann has more than 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, with the past seven years as deputy head institutional sales at Invesco in Frankfurt.

He has served as chairman of the Investment Consultants Working Group and vice chairman of the Pension Business Committee at the German Asset Management Association in the British Virgin Islands.

Puschmann’s hire is the latest in a raft of senior appointments by Neuberger Berman, suggesting its growing efforts to consider the nuances of localised client demand.

In September, Neuberger Berman hired Javier Nuñez de Villavicencio to lead its client relations in Spain and Portugal and last month Jonathan Geoghegan joined the UK financial institutions and intermediaries client group from HSBC Global Asset Management.

Van Lomwel said: “As we continue to deepen client relationships in this important region, it is vital to have experienced professionals with local expertise. Christian brings both… and we look forward to his insights and contribution.”
